This  planted  bowl  did  not  require  anything,  such  as  CO2,  Air  pump,  it  had  no  fungus,  no  extra  substrate,  no  T5's.  The  soil  is  not  even  laterite...  its  plain  garden  mud...  Surprised

Well  as  I  see  it,  its  just  a  small  replica  of  your  big  tank   Very Happy  except  for  the  laterite.  The  plants  sure  have  suffered  twice  Very Happy
Well  if  its  just  plain  soil(what  ever)  use  sand  topping  over  it(3-4mm  wala)  but  decrease  the  soil  to  just  half  inch  at  max.

garothmaan  wrote  (View  Post):

This  bowl  WAS!....  simply  getting  natural  light,  natural  air,  and  the  plants  were  quite  good,  infact  I  have  planted  those  sticks  from  this  bowl....

The  adverb  "quite"  is  quite  trivial  Smile  so  what  I  see  is  your  plants  are  not  in  quite  good  healthy-  simple  words-  they  have  not  thrived  much,  from  monsoon  to  summer??

Lucky  with  the  fungus  as  you  dint  have  a  uncured  wood  in  bowl.
Well  that  wood  needs  curing  there,  let  it  have  come  from  showroom/footpath.

 BTW  the  simple  PIC.
Mixture-  2  cup  sugar,  half  spoon  yeast, wait  for  a  day  to  see  bubbles.

As  per  your  experience  with  your  bowl,  you  now  know  that  CO2  source  is  not  compulsory.

Thanks  for  the  support  Trevor  Very Happy

 BTW  Garothmaan,
You  are  just  there,  just  that  you  need  few  weeks  to  settle  out  with  a  beautiful  planted  tank.  This  time  buy  in  heafty  what  ever  plant  is  cheapest/free.
 So  good  luck...

 Remember  Garothmann,

No  keeping  the  DIY  CO2  bottle  above  the  aquarium  tank  level.

No  valves  of  any  type  on  your  DIY  CO2  set  up.

What  is  required  to  cure  the  wood?...  BTW..  the  plants  did  thrive,  the  whole  bowl  was  full  of  grass  and  the  anubais  was  realy  big  and  hefty....

Good  question  Garothmaan.  Growing  or  dying?

We  all  are  very  eagerly  watching  that  along  with  you  and  hoping  that  it  is  actually  growing.  Like  your  concept  of  things  happening  all  by  themselves  leaving  us  behind  to  watch  the  glory  :)
