I somehow missed this thread, it is a good attempt for a first planted tank.
Do not get bogged down in needless techanlities of definitions of "planted tank","aquascaped tank"etc. concentrate on keeping your plants and fish healthy.
You need to put in more plants, a tank with less plants is always prone to algae, increase more plants.
What is the particle size of your substrate, it looks a little bigger to me, a particle size of 2-3 mm is good for plants, if the particle size is smaller the substrate starts getting compact and if it is too big, it does not hold nutrients.
Get plants which are suitable for low lights, crypts, ferns, marselia can be used in foreground.
You are fortunate to be living in city full of helpful experienced aquarists, get in touch with them.

@sandeep- the top layer is actually pretty big, almost 1cm each. Under it is ada amzonia with German clay. Any drawbacks with that? Because lugia and me both have It.
The main rooting substrate should have appropriate particle size, you can cover it with decorative substrate of your choice.
While setting up my planted tank I was not able to get required quantity of ADA so I topped it with black substrate.

Thanks for sharing those nice pictures of you RCS tank, it has looks nice
I am sure you are going to add on to these plants and continue sharing snaps as the tank develops with lot more plants and the dwellers. Is your idea only to keep RCS only or you plan to add shrimps of any types as long as they are compliant to your current occupants?
