 That's  Fine,

Did  you  notice  any  bullying  by  the  bigger  Discus.   The  symptoms  obviously  suggests  he  is  stressed.

 Good.

What  I  thought  was  Bullying  by  the  bigger  mates  could  be  a  cause  for  the  stress.

Now  its  getting  beyond  my  knowledge  of  discus.  lets  wait  for  the  experts  to  step  in.

 Hi  Angel  and  discus

Sorry  ,  but  sometimes  lot  of  it  is  in  our  mind  that  they  dont  look  well  etc.  Also  please  see  if  can  post  a  photograph  of  the  same.

i  feed  them  little  amounts  all  through  the  day

This  is  little  difficult  to  understand  ,  the  little  might  be  adding  to  lot  and  this  might  be  creating  the  problems.

If  you  see  the  forum  ,  there  are  many  remedies  recommended>  please  go  through  those  ,  you  will  find  some  advice  there.

If  you  post  a  pic  maybe  the  doc's  here  can  give  you  a  cure  and  fast

 Thanks

Pl  advice  the  size  of  these  discus   .  four  discus  in  4  ft  tank  is  too  little  ,  not  a  good  idea  .  You  need  to  keep  atleast  7  .  Discus  are  comfortable  when  they  are  kept  in  group  of  same  size  .  no  need  to  increase  the  temp  to  30  deg  .  normal  temp  of  28  -  29  deg  is  ok  .

If  your  fish  is  turning  black  ,  it  is  the  indication  of  external   infection  .  first  try  with  75  %  daily  WC  and  add  Salt  .

Try  to  post  pic  of  these  discus  to  have  better  idea  .

 Hi  Dhanraj,

If  your  fish  is  still  not  eating,  please  follow  the  instruction  provided  by  Shiva  above.

"If  your  fish  is  not  eating  ,  you  need  to  deflagellate  them  with  Metronidazole  in  water  as  well  as  in  feed."

If  your  discus  has  stoped  eating  ,  or  have  poor  appetite  ,  or  spitting  the  food  ,  or  passes  white  stringy  feces  use   Metronidazole  as  below

 1)  Maintain  the  tank  water  temp  to  31  deg  .
 2)  Dosage  Metro  100  mg  to  100  ltrs.
 3)  Dissolve  Metro  in  luke  warm  water  before  adding  to  tank  .
 4)  After  8  hrs  do  45  %  WC  and  repeat  action  2  &  3  .
 5)  If  Discus  has  stop  eating  since  long  ,  you  need  to  continue   this  treatment  for  5  days  .
 6)  You  can  feed  the  discus  during  this  course  ,  but  you  need  to  add  Metro  in  BH  and  feed  as  much  as  the  discus  consumes  within  10  minutes  .Dosage  in  feed  -Metro  100mg  to  100  gm  BH  .

If  you  are  using  municipal  water  regularly  for  Discus  ,  while  changeing  to  Bore  well  water  you  need  to  be  careful  .  Borewell  water  is  hard  water  with  compare  to  municipal  water  and  when  you  do  bigger  WC  your  discus  may  get  water  shock  due  to   change  in  hardness  of  water  .

If  you  have  water  problem  ,  don't  go  for  medicating  your  discus  .  Wait  for  your  water  supply  to  gets  regularise  and  then  go  for  the  treatments  .  Change  in  water  chemistry  will  stress  your  discus  .

 Thanks
 Shiva  Nair
