 Hi,
My  brother  is  in  US.  I  want  to  get  some  good  aquarium  goods.  Is  it  fine  to  get  ADA  co2  kit  except  the  cylinder?  I  will  get  a  cylinder  in  Mumbai  and  can  i  connect  the  kit  with  a  normal  local  cylinder?
With  ADA  kit  can  I  supply  co2  to  my  3  or  more  tanks?  If  not  ADA  other  options  welcome  which  are  reliable.  With  so  many  tanks  what  size  cylinder  will  I  need  to  get  so  that  it  runs  for  atleast  3-4  months  with  total  of  all  tanks  to  5  bubbles  per  second?
Can  you  suggest  components  that  I  will  need  to  install  a  proper  co2  unit  including  tubing  and  everything  counting  me  as  zero  in  this.

 1.  For  what  is  solenoid  valve  used  for?
 2.  What  is  dual  gauge  regulator  and  single  gauge  regulator?
 3.  With  triple  Co2  Splitter  manifold  can  i  connect  my  5  tanks  with  co2  injection?
 4.  Lastly  Red  Sea  can  be  used  on  Local  Indian  cylinders?

A  link  explaining  everything  will  be  helpful.
I  have  refered  to  trevors  article  on  "How  to  jump  start  your  planted  aquarium  Part  1".

I  find  technical  terms  a  little  tough  as  this  is  my  1st  time.

 Thanks  in  advance,
 Avadhoot.

I  think  i  have  answered  your  earliar  questions  in  the  PM.

For  Â CO2  System  you  will  need:
 1.  Co2  regulator
 2.  Solenoid  valve  (optional)
 3.  Presicion  Needle  valve
 4.  Bubble  counter
 5.  Co2  resistant  tubing

1.A  Solenoid  valve  is  an  electromagnetic  valve  which  when  activated  opens  up  and  closes  when  deactivated.  Basically  a  solenoid  valve  gives  you  a  better  control  of  the  CO2  flow  and  prevents  the  wastage  of  CO2  when  the  lights  go  out.
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solenoid_valve

2  A  Dual  gauge  regulator  has  two  gauges  one  high  pressure  (0-3000  psi)  and  the  other  low  pressure  (0-60  psi).  High  pressure  gauge  shows  you  the  pressure  in  your  co2  cylinder.  Low  pressure  gauge  shows  you  the  pressure  coming  out  of  the  regulator.
You  also  need  a  good  needle  valve  to  further  control  the  co2  flow  to  bubbles  /sec  for  aquarium  application.
A  Single  gauge  regulator  has  only  the  low  pressure  gauge  to  show  the  outlet  pressure.

3.No.  You  will  need  a  5  way  splitter  for  it.  Some  thing  like  this
 http://www.aquacave.com/hexo-manifold-with-br6-individual-needle-valves-1160.html

4.The  Red  Sea  regulator  fits  a  CGA-320  valve  on  the  Co2  cylinder  only.  You  will  have  to  make  sure  your  cylinder  has  a  CGA  -320  valve  or  you  will  need  to  find  a  adapter.

 Thanks
 Bhushan

 Hi  Avadhoot

Bhushan  has  covered  all  the  components  well.  In  addition  to  that  you  will  need  an  effective  way  to  diffuse  the  CO2  in  your  tank.  For  this  you  could  look  at  using  the  CO2  Ceramic  Diffuser  or  CO2  Reactor  along  with  a  powerhead.

I  recently  bought  a  milwaukee  co2  regulator  +  bubble  counter  +  solenoid  valve  for  about  $80  from  the  US...all  in  one  piece  and  very,  very  easy  to  install.  it  is  working  very  well...I  am  using  a  red  sea  reactor  along  with  it...this  too  is  working  great...

please  see  this  link  for  the  details...

Cylinder  and  regulator  forms  the  major  components.
 If  you  buy  those  locally,
what  else  do  you  plan  to  get  from  US  ?
If  you  get  the  solenoid  valve  from  US,  you  will  add  up  another  component  in  your  setup  to  step  down  the  voltage  from  220  to  110.
I  personally  would  prefer  to  keep  the  clutter  minimal.
