Hi,  I  am  a  novice  and  wish  to  keep  a  fish  tank.  Now  since  I  am  a  strict  vegetarian,  I  would  like  to  keep  only  herbivorous  fishes.  Can  members  kindly  guide  me  to  some  common  herbivorous  fishes.

 Surprised   Huh
Someone  who  doesn't  read  the  replies  to  his  own  posts?

But  there  is  something  to  be  noted.  The  old  post  did  not  suggest  any  pure  vegetarian  fish  for  him  Neutral

If  feeding  dry  food  containing  non-vegetarian  contents  to  fishes  is  a  big  issue  for  you,

then  you  should  be  keeping  algae  eating  apple  snails  only.

After  reading  the  answers  to  my  question  last  time  I  went  to  some  fish  shops  and  asked  for  Mbuna  and  Tropheus  and  was  told  they  had  never  heard  these  names.  Maybe  they  are  not  common  fishes.  I  again  asked  the  question  as  regards  Herbivorous  fishes  hoping  to  get  the  names  of  some  common  herbivorous  fishes.  How  common  are  Mbuna  and  Tropheus?

Mbuna  :  Ask  for  Colorful  Malawi  Chicklets,  Banana,  Aradus,  Blue  Morph,  Ice  Blue  Chicklets   Very Happy

If  possible,  just  show  them  few  pics  of  these,  so  they  can  easily  get  you,  Because  these  are  widely  available  in  most  LFS

What  do  you  intend  to  feed  them?   Pellets/flakes?   Most  fishes,  even  if  classified  omnivores  can  do  quite  well  with  dry  food  not  to  mention  most  dry  foods  do  contain  a  portion  of  Non-Veg  Wink
