Want to know about LED lighting for aquarium. Do I get the same intensity as usual as CFL/FL/PLL?
I am using one Philips make 36watt, 6500k, 2800lm PL lamp fitted inside the hood with a homemade aluminium foil reflector for my 30x15x15 community tank.

As far as I have researched, there is no off the shelf LED solution right now (i.e in India). The regular LED based lights will be of no use. Either you have to go for some expensive solution available outside or go DIY. There are pretty good LEDs available as individual components.
There are couple of old threads about this topic in either DIY or lighting section. I wanted to start a experiment on this, but have shelved it for now.
Some of the good LEDs are Luxeon, Cree and I think Osram has something which I cant remember.
What I have found is that these need good drivers which can deliver constant current. These LEDs are pretty sensitive to fluctuations and need good heat management.
EDIT: The above things are for a planted tank. It doesnt matter much if its just for general lighting.
