What was the size of your discus pair when they started to breed for the first time ??? Note that Iam saying SIZE not AGE. It may be difficult to find the age of your fish esply if it has changed a lot of hands :(
Iam looking for the smallest sized discus that started breeding successfully Just curious.

Minimum 5 inch . max 7 inch
It is not advisible to breed discus of smaller size. When parents are smaller in size ,sometimes they cannot withstand the pricking from their fries . Smaller parents means smaller area for fries to their slim for food , hence more stress on parents during nursing .
Bigger parents means , more eggs from female , more milt from male and more fertilisation , hence bigger spawn size .
In short bigger breeding pair , means more output with more chances of producing quality babies and chances of falling sick due to pricking is less .
Smaller breeding pairs sometimes produce smaller spawn and chances of falling sick is more during nursing of fries .
