Most of us collect it from nature.
From the abundant rivers and streams and some from the backwaters and coastal areas.
Some good imported driftwood is also available in the LFS like the good looking hard rosewood type driftwood. They say it comes from Malaysia.
It is mostly root and branches shaped.(Mangrove ?)
It also leaches so it could have ben dyed??
Another good driftwood is from Calcutta shaped in blocks/chunks and it has plenty of holes. The holes made I presume by shipworms.
All this is sold by weight.(Kgs)
I am from Bangalore, Karnataka. I really don't know what the guys in the other parts of the country do.
You can use the same method to cure other Mangrove or oak woods.
If you are looking large quantities of wood you can use this way of curing or collect it from nature. If its going to very less numbers you can better buy it from LFS or post in IAH - someone might be ready to give away or sell.
