Hi all,
Yesterday i bought a pair of small angels(P. scalare) about 1" in length.
They were the most active ones in the LFS tank.
They are not eating regular pellets which other fishes eat.
I noticed that they were trying to eat leaves from Cabomba plant which is there in their tank.(i think its weird as they are carnivores)
They are housed in a 15gal established tank with a sponge filter.
Any suggestions regarding feeding them?
Thank you,
Tejas

I went to the LFS from where i bought them.
They were feeding freeze dried tubifex worms so i too bought a packet of same and they are instantly eating it. Im happy and so are they!!
Any idea how to break them off this habit and feed something else??
Thank you.

If a fish is fed regularly a single type of food, sometimes it fails to recognise other item as food.
Give them their preferred food once a day, and second time give them your regular feed.
Over a period of time they will start to accept other items as food.
Give them a varied diet over a period of time.
I always vary diet of my fish on a daily basis, I have 2-3 open tins running at a time.
When they get empty I always change the brand, the only feed that remains constant for me is Tetra bits, which is given once a day, second time, and they are always given different food.
