 Hi  Harsha:

AC  will  be  good  just  for  a  week,  then  it's  done  its  job...

The  best  way  to  use  1Kg  of  AC  is  to  put  250gms  at  a  time  for  a  period  of  one  week  and  keep  changing  it  every  week  for  four  weeks...
 Bye,

 Hi  Harsha:

 Which  'brand'  are  you  using?

Well,  when  it  comes  to  keeping  Discus,  it  is  the  WCs  which  matters  most...
So,  do  daily  WCs  to  keep  them  happy...

With  a  sponge  filter  in,  and  with  50%  WC  everyday,  you  can  forget  all  about  Ammonia,  Nitrite  and  Nitrates...

 I  personally  don't  use  any  form  of  Chemical/Mechanical  filter-media...

To  know  more  about  pH  --  Myth  and  Facts,
 Read  Madhu's  article  here...
 Bye,

 hi  nag,
im  currently  using  "NICHE"  brand  activated  carbon  and  anti-ammonia  chips  along  with  bioceramic  rings  and  EHFISUBSTRAT(EHEIM's)  for  biological  filtration....the  water  is  being  maintained  crystal  clear(EHEIM  2217  is  really  amazing!!)....after  a  couple  of  weeks,  i'll  remove  the  carbon  and  replace  it  with  EHFIAKTIV  and  more  of  EHFISUBSTRAT...the  DISCUS  are  very  active  and  eatin  voraciously...  Smile  ..i  want  to  use  chemical  media(like  EHFIAKTIV)  continously  because  i  dont  know  anything  about  my  tap  water  which  i  use  for  water  changes....thank  you.
