Just  some  pics  of  my  P.  filamentosus.
They  were  flying  around  the  tank,  but  I  managed  to  take  some  pics.

Nice  colors  on  them.  Have  they  developed  any  dorsal  extensions?  Are  they  leaving  your  plants  alone?
Is  that  a  Stiphodon  sharing  the  tank  with  them?

Two  males  showed  these  colours.  The  biggest  of  them  starting  to  develop  some  extensions.
The  male  on  the  pictures  above  is  a  bit  smaller  and  doesn't  have  extensions  (yet)

Bigger  male  almost  4",  the  extensions  are  only  a  few  millimetres  long

Same  male,  a  few  weeks  ago

They  have  eaten  the  Eleocharis  and  Najas   Smile  ,  but  they  don't  ruin  the  other  plants  till  now.
But  when  you  are  a  few  days  away,  they  will  start  eating  most  plants.

A  group  of  Stiphodon  is  also  in  this  tank;  always  busy  grazing  and  digging.

 @  Trevor:

At  first  glance  your  fish  look  like  P.  assimilis.
But  I  can't  see  the  mouth  properly.

What  about  the  black  bands  on  the  caudal  fin  lobes  in  P.  filamentosus?
Some  of  my  fish  sometimes  show  some  faint  black  bands,  but  most  of  the  time  I  don't  see  anything.
I  thought  that  was  the  key  to  differentiate  them  from  P.  singhala  ?

 Kajsa,
Only  the  one  in  front  in  Trevor's  pic  is  a  filamentosa,  the  2  behind  it  are  as  u  guessed  assimilis.
