 Dear  All,

Does  lighting  inside  water  helps  to  grow  plants  well,  especially  stem  plants.
I  have  some  stem  plants  and  the  bottom  leave  vanish  in  a  span  of  time  and  it  does  not  grow.  If  i  use  this  type  of  lighting  would  that  help  plants  to  grow.

Can  I  know  the  advantages  and  dis-advantages  of  this  lighting

 Regards
 Sharath

 hi,

¬†lighting  inside  water  is  not  a  good  idea,  but  there  is  a  popular  method  to  give  sufficient  lighting  for  bottom  leaves  of  stems.we  can  put  lights  at  both  sides  of  the  tank  (from  out  side).

 regards
 Sudhakar

In  low  light  stem  plants  reach  for  top  and  lose  leaves  on  lower  portion.
You  must  have  high  lights  and  frequent  pruning  to  keep  them  bushy.

Agree  with  Sandeep.  First  grow  plants  with  proper  lights  from  the  top.

Underwater  lights  give  out  negligible  heat.  Use  only  to  showcase  your  thriving  aquarium  at  night.  It  cannot  be  used  to  grow  plants.

Underwater  lights  are  available  on  SJP  road,  Bangalore  in  different  colors  and  shades.

Thanks  for  all  your  suggestions  and  sorry  for  the  late  reply.  Can  I  know  where  can  i  get  T5  tubes  apart  from  lfs  as  I  feel  they  are  too  costlier.  As  of  now  I  have  one  15  watt  cfl  light  which  will  go  on  for  12  hours,  I  have  even  a  china  made  normal  one  feet  light  which  does  not  work  properly  not  even  for  two  day.

Tanks  is  of  2*1*1  feet  weekly  3/4  water  change.  An  Aquaclear  hangon  filter  200ltrs  per  hour

So  please  suggest  me  on  this  regard.
