 Hello  Everyone,

Does  this  oscar  look  stunted  to  you?
Its  size  is  about  4  inches.

It  is  eating  properly  and  having  a  fuller  look  by  the  day...what  do  you  think?

 Thanks,
 Abhi

 Antu....
The  oscar  doesn't  look  stunted  to  me.I  go  by  Seetharam  that  a  healthy  protein  rich  diet  will  help  him  bring  out  his  growth.Well  you  can  also  go  for  Hikari  Cichlid  Gold. Its  a  good  food  and  I'm  using  it  for  my  red  devil. And  do  give  him  enough  space  of  minimum  40  gallons  as  a  growing   tank  for  him.

As  your  Oscars  grow,  do  not  forget  55G  per  Oscar  rule.  In  future,  upgrade  to  bigger  tank  to  avoid  territorial  fights  and  to  pump  in  their  best  growth.

 Yogesh,  thanks  for  the  comments..

I  have  the  other  tiger  oscar  which  is  now  3  inches  ,  I  got  that  at  2  inches,  is  so  much  fuller  through  the  body  and  growing  so  fast  compared  to  this  one.  The  other  reason  was  that  its  head  is  a  little  bigger  compared  to  its  body...I  suppose  that  is  because  of  malnutrition  and  I  can  fix  it  by  proper  feeding.

Reg  space,  thats  a  tough  one...I  plan  to  keep  only  one  of  the  oscars  in  this  40G...I  wish  I  could  get  a  55  or  bigger  for  him  very  soon  ,  but  that  will  be  at  least  a  year  from  now  Sad  (convinced  wify  that  I  need  a  4  feeter  for  the  africans  and  in  process  of  setting  that  up,  so  she  will  not  allow  me  to  get  another  one  now,  I  have  to  manage  with  the  40)

 Hi  Abhi,

You  are  going  the  right  way  reg  your  O's  diet.  Once  your  O  is  used  to  Hikari  Bio-Gold,  watch  its  color  explode.  Smile

I  didn't  had  tough  time  with  my  better-half  for  getting  separate  tank  for  my  O  as  it  is  her  favorite  fish.  But  she  is  always  after  getting  rid  of  my  discus  &  Aro  though.  Chuckle
