 Hi,
I  got  some  CSM-B  from  Hamza,  and  wanted  to  make  a  stock  solution  of  the  same.  I  mixed  CSM-B  (  15  gms  )  in  100  ml  of  warm  RO  water  for  the  stock  soilution.  After  a  day  I  see  a  lot  of  precipitates  in  that  solution,  which  does  not  dissolve  (  The  precipitate  MAY  have  been  on  the  day  I  mixed  it,  but  I  noticed  it  only  the  next  day  )  .  How  do  I  stop  this  from  precipitation  ?!
Did  I  mix  too  much  (  15  gms  )  in  100  ml  of  water  ?!  I've  heard  many  people  face  this  issue  with  CSM-B  and  wanted  to  know  what  they  do  to  deal  with  this  problem.  Should  I  add  a  few  drops  of  HCl  or  store  it  in  a  refrigerator  ?!

Any  help  is  highly  appreciated.  I'm  newly  trying  out  EI  dosing,  and  it's  difficult  to  estimate  the  minute  quantity  of  CSM  for  dry  dosing  for  my  150L  tank.

 Regards
 Prabhu  M

 1  teaspoon=1  sprite  500ml  bottle
anything  around  that  shouldnt  be  a  blunder.

 Dosing  1  cap  per  4days/1week  for  a  14gal.

You  can  frequent  it  accordingly  for  a  bigger  tank(not  increase  the  qty).

 Cheers.

 HI  Prabhu,
I  do  not  have  experience  with  CSM  +  B  though  I  am  trying  to  get  some.  But  from  general  chemistry  knowledge,  solubility  of  water  will  be  high  when  it  is  hot,  So  it  can  keep  more  solute  in  dissolved  state  when  it  is  hot.  When  the  solution  get  cold  it  gets  precipitated.  Apparently  15gm  may  be  more  than  the  solubility  of  100ml  water.(  I  do  not  know  what  may  be  the  correct  qnty)  Refrigeration  will  not  help  as  in  cold  condition  solubility  of  water  will  be  still  lower.
 with  best  regards,

 Sudheer

I  never  made  a  stock  solution  for  my  ferts.  When  I  have  to  dose,  I  take  1/4tsp  kno3  and  a  pinch  of  kh2po4  and  CSM,  mix  them  in  a  glass  of  water  and  add  it  after  switching  off  the  lights.  I  do  this  twice  or  thrice  a  week  and  it  works  for  me.  My  tank  is  around  90l.

P.S..Earlier  I  was  dosing  dry  directly,  but  once  I  accidentally  spilled  whole  KNO3  at  a  spot  and  that  kind  of  burnt(leaves  became  black)  some  ferns  and  a  portion  of  hairgrass.  As  a  precaution  I  am  mixing  premixing  them  and  diluting  in  water  before  I  dose.

Use  a  small  amount  of  any  acid  (I  use  half  ml)  and  you  will  not  see  precipitation.
