Though I have been into this site for a long time, I opened this column for the first time. It wa always a dream to have an artificial pond iin living area which i have seen in a magazine from my younger days. Though I insisted on that to my father he didnot pay much attention.
Now in my forties, again I got back to thishobby still having the magazine and asking my husband for the same. As we were shifting houses often ,we gave up. Suddenly having water problem at house we were looking for storage tanks. There I saw the squared white tanks.Got the idea of fulllfilling my desire
Got the tank, cut off the upper portion (my friends said i am mad ,my husband giving a crazy llook like should I really live with you ) kept it in the hall. Arranged terracotta bricks outside covering the sides. Kept two bricks inside tank corner and kept a palm on that. Kept big stones at a corner Added water. Koi carps, gouramis which can breathe coming uo and some shubukins
Very peaceful.Thinking of keeping a Buddha statue on the bricks.Have always a flower arrangement and scented dry flowers -poy pourri and the foldable cushion bed at one side.
It draws in everyones attention and the fish splahing water. one child asking "aunty can I swim with them and take bath here. Now whenever someone comes ,my husbands look- oh really I have a wonderful wife. Will et the photo of this soon.
Can i have Lotus plandt in the pond, Please Advice

Wow that sounds like a really nice idea, Infact i've been thinking of something similar, but never had the means to do it. How big is the tank? and what kind of material is it made of? is the tank above floor level or below the floor? Hope u can show us pics of your tank soon
