Both  Serpae  tetra  as  well  as  Tiger  Barbs  have  a  bad  rep  as  fin  nippers  I  want  to  know  if  they  are  suitable  in  a  planted  tank  .  Also  wold  the  agression  level  come  down  in  greater  number  (6-Cool  to  such  a  level  that  they  dont  bother  other  peacefui  fish.  Any  other  commonly  available  fish(not  cardinals/neons/harlequins)   suggested  for  planted  tanks.

Rummynose  tetras.....They're  very  active  shoaling  fish......
Their  nose  serves  as  an  indicator  of  the  water  quality  in  the  tank.

elimoses..  you  can  keep  these  in  8+  nos,  the  more  the  better.  I  had  no  issues  keeping  black  neon,  red  eye  tetras,  albino,  tetras,  black  molly,  rainbows,  SAE,  Otos  with  these..
I  feel,  fishes  which  are  too  sluggish  must  be  avoided..they  can  do  well  with  other  narrow  bodied  tetras  and  barbs..

How  about  gouramis  in  a  planted  tank.  My  past  experience  has  been  that  they  are  notorious  bullies  .  How  about  a  single  kissing  gourami?

I  had  a  pair  of  blue  gouramis  cosby  along  with  the  tiger  and  serpae  in  planted  tank  with  out  problems,  but  no  idea  about  kissing  gourami..  its  been  long  time  since  I  had  these  and  it  was  not  a  planted  tank,  looks  like  they  are  peaceful  enough  towards  fishes,  and  have  seen  on  net  being  used  in  planted  tanks.  but  they  can  grow  to  a  foot  in  lenght..  so  consider  that.

Dwarf  Gouramis  are  very  peaceful.  I've  got  Red  Flame  Gouramis  and  Neon  Gouramis.  If  you've  a  matured  male  Flame  gourami,  he  will  make  nest  using  the  small  plants.  Mine  did  2  times.  Shall  upload  the  nest  photo  sometime.

Forgot  to  mention  that  the  Gouramis  are  with  neons,  glowlight,  penguin  tetras,  chelas  and  ramarezis.  Never  seen  any  aggression  anytime.
