 Hello  all....

I  would  like  to  share  with  y'all  the  pond  I  built  for  my  monsters.  The  pond  was  built  in  November  and  has  been  running  since  December.

The  pond  volume  is  around  6500G.  It  consists  of  three  levels.  Level  One  1ft,  Level  Two  2ft  and  Third  3ft.  The  length  is  about  23'.
There  are  two  bottom  drains  connecting  a  560G  inground  settling  tank.  I  have  built  two  bog  filters  using  cement  ring  with  3'  Dia  with  3'  &  4'  height  respectively.  The  bog  mainly  consists  of  pea  gravel  with  bottom  layer  as  clay  balls.  For  plants  I  have  used  basically  anything  I  found  appealing  and  the  ones  grow  well  in  water  medium.
To  add  to  that,  there  is  a  surface  skimmer  with  a  small  bog  filter.
I  have  used  a  EPDM  membrane  as  the  inside  layer  and  tons  of  rocks  and  sand  gravel  to  create  a  river  bed.
 For  stocking:
 3  silver  arowana  -  24",18",  12"(deformed  Aro  with  a  bent  back)
 2  giant  gaurami  -  24"  15"(RTGG)
 1  tsnXrtc  -  10"
 1  fl  gar  -  20"
 8  Koi  Carps  -  10"-15"

And  several  natives---  B.  canerensis,  dawkinsia  -  rohani,  assimillis  and  filamentosa,  denisonii,  kurali,  rhino  garra  and  several  guppies.
Since  its  running  one  of  the  dawkinsia  has  been  prolifically  breeding  and  the  fries  are  growing  well.  The  kois  did  lay  eggs  twice  but  haven't  seen  any  development  there.

This  was  a  DIY  build  using  labor  of  course  Smile  other  than  that  Kaya  and  Luc  from  MFK  were  of  great  help.
Also,  a  very  special  thanks  to  Kaya  in  helping  me  sort  out  the  pump  and  stuf.  Cheers  buddy  :)

I  wished  I  a  had  documented  the  build  here  as  well  as  I  did  in  KAC  and  MFK.
Anyways,  here  are  the  links  to  my  pond  build  and  videos...

Yea  lots  of  fun  indeed....  The  sound  of  waterfall  is  soothing  and  my  garden  is  ever  inviting.  Since  the  pond  build  the  mornings  are   even  more  beautiful.  :)

I  guess  I  did  not  post  a  video  of  the  filter  running..  Will  do  it  in  the  morning  tmrw  Wink

 Hi  Rosh,

Provide  your  pond  details  in  a  separate  thread  to  discuss  further.  Pics,  dimension,  stocking  and  current  filtration  info  would  help  a  lot.

 Regards,

 Najib,

Lovely  pond  and  crystal  clear  water  Thumb Up
The  mix  of  fauna  seems  a  bit  strange.  I  would  have  made  Nethravathi  Bio-tope.  But  then  that's  only  me  Smile
 Where  in  Mangalore?
