 Hello  Hobbyist,

I  have  few  tanks,  however  my  knowledge  on  water  parameter  is  next  to  nothing.  Please  suggest  me  some  good  water  parameter  tester  that  is  available  in  India.

 Thanks,
 Jeeva

 Hi  Jeeva,

Please  update  your  location  so  that  hobbyist  in  your  area  could  suggest  you  good  shops  to  buy  those.

There  are  couple  of  test  kits  available  in  the  market.  You  can  either  purchase  individual  test  kits  for  each  chemical  or  buy  all-in-one  test  kits.

First  decide  what  parameters  do  you  want  to  check.  What  tank  do  you  have?  Freshwater/planted  or  marine.  Based  on  that,  you  can  decide  what  parameters  you  wanted  to  check.  And  depending  on  your  budget,  you  can  purchase  individual  or  all-in-one  test  kits.

You  have  All-in-one  test  kits  from  API  and  JBL.  They  do  have  the  individual  test  kits  too..

Depends  on  what  you  want  to  keep.  With  your  Bettas  already  breeding  I  suspect  your  water  is  just  fine.

Unless  you  have  a  bad  case  of  MTS  (multiple  tank  syndrome)  with  a  penchant  for  compulsive  aquascaping  or  for  tough  to  keep  fish  you  rarely  need  to  test  your  water  again  and  again.

There  already  a  recent  thread  on  testing  water.  Might  want  to  read  that  up.  Link  to  recent  thread  on  test  kits

sjeeva  -  There  are  few  products  available  in  the  market  for  testing  water  parameters.

JBL  has  test  kits  for  testing  PH,  Cu,  KH,  NO2,  NO3  etc  as  a  one  test  kit  per  parameter.  These  are  solvent  based  tests  and  very  reliable.

They  also  have  5  in  1,  6  in  1  option  which  has  50  strips  in  it.  This  is  not  solvent  based  but  still  can  be  helpful  if  you  are  maintaining  good  quality  of  water  anyway  and  just  want  to  check  the  water  chemistry.

Please  update  your  location,  I  may  be  able  to  provide  you  some  of  these  based  on  your  location.

 Sandy
