I  feed  them  with  egg  white,  dessicated  spirulina  dust,  freshly  hatched  mosquito  larvae!,  chicken  liver  mash  and  cultured  cyclops  followed  by  a  25%  water  change  per  day.  Feed  them  varied  diet  in  little  amounts  at  frequent  intervals.  Keep  them  in  shallow  containers  for  best  results.  Varied  diet  is  needed  to  complete  the  amino  acids,  minerals  and  vitamin  requirements.  It  gives  them  a  better  immune  system  and  water  changes(  without  changing  the  respective  parameters  of  temperature,pH,  permanent  hardness  and  electrolyte  balance)  will  reduce  stress  and  promote  better  colour  and  finnage.

Hardwork  pays  when  you  see  them  grow  into  what  i  call  tiny  giants.

Freshly  hatched  BBS  for  the  first  few  days  plus  crushed  powdered  fish  food  flakes  after  1  week  old.   Then  I  start  feed  them  with  tubifex  worms.   All  these  foods  will  be  given  6  -  8  times  a  day,  but  just  enough  to  fill-up  their  tummies.   Any  excess  foods  that  were  not  eaten,  will  be  removed  from  the  tank.

I  only  feed  youngseed  shrimps,  mosquito  larvae,  baby  brine  shrimp  and  other  live  food.  They  grow  quickly  with  live  food.  For  color  of  the  fish  I  feed  terra  bits  and  I  keep  them  under  light  for  6  hours  a  day  as  well  so  their  backs  don't  get  crooked.

 1.  Baby  Brine  shrimps  -  Best  for  faster  growth  rate.
 2.  Hikari  First  bites  -  Fine  powder  but  quickly  foul  water,  so  avoid  overfeeding.
 3.  Hikari  Micropallets  -  when  Fries  are  big  enough  to  eat  these.
 4.  Crushed  flakes,  frozen  tubifex  etc.

I  have  a  running  guppy  breeding  project  for  quite  sometime  now  &  I  have  been  managed  to  survive  most  of  the  fries  using  these  food  items.

 Hope  this  helps.

 Sandy

 Dear  all,

If  you  can  keep  micro  worms,  that  would  be  the  best  food..  It's  cost  effective  and  good  for  the  fish

 Thank  you  for  your  time,

Lets  look  at  what  options  you  want  to  choose....

Lazy  :  Powder  any  regular  pellet  ,  twice  a  day  .
Fairly  interested  :  Micro  Pellets  of  any  brand
Fish  welfare  with  sufficient  time  :  Microworms  and  BBS.
Over  zealous  :  Go  the  Coonooranand  Way  .....you  need  to  have  tons  of  time..

Let  us  know  ,  which  path  you  honestly  pick....
