How  many  silicone  tubes(approx.)  are  needed  for  constructing  6  X  2  X  2  feet  all  glass  tank?  Consider  that  I  am  using  Silicone  liberally.

I  would  be  using  12  mm  glass.  Can  I  use  12  mm  glass  for  the  bottom  or  shud  I  use  15  mm  glass?

Veera  if  teh  bottom  is  fully  supported  ie.,  placed  on  a  solid  surface  L  x  B  then  12  mm  should  be  enough.

I  would  use  less  than  1  tube  for  a  tank  this  size  I  think,  being  careful  I'll  have  another  tube  on  standby.

If  you  are  very  liberal  and  very  "careful"  then  have  a  third  tube  on  hand.
I  suspect  too  liberal  and  too  careful  will  make  an  all  silicone  aquarium  rather  than  all  glass.

 Thanks  Madan.
I  only  have  one  tank  in  mind  so  I  dont  want  to  waste  buying  too  many  silicone  tubes.  I  will  get  two.

 Very Happy  hello,Madan,Veera...
If  the  tank  is  made  of  12  mm  glass,I  think  it  would  be  a  good  idea  to  have  some  kind  of  a  bracing  along  the  top  front  and  back  glasses.Say,3inx  60in,12  mm  strips  pasted  along  the  top  edges. If  this  is  done  a  little  more  silicon  may  be  required.
         Have  fun!
