Market  prawns  are  best.   I've  supplimented  everything  that  comes  in  my  way  from  cockroaches,  small  frogs,  grasshoppers,  crickets,  tadpoles  and  of  course  small  fishes  &  pellets.

Sorry  for  digging  this  up  again!
We  have  lots  of  roaches  in  a  nearby  house(abandoned)
Would  feeding  roaches  pass  on  some  kinda  worms  or  other  infections  to  the  arowana(is  there  a  chance  for  this  to  happen  ?)

You  can  feed  them  to  your  aro  if  you  are  sure  they  are  free  from  parasite  or  pesticide  content.

 Jithu,

Seen  a  friend's  Aro  die  after  it  was  fed  a  cockraoch.  The  person  did  an  autopsy  to  find  out  the  cause  of  death,  and  found  that  the  barbels  on  the  roache's  legs  had  torn  a  part  of  the  gut  of  the  fish!

Thats  why  I  advise  roach  feeders  to  chop  off  the  legs  before  feeding.

 Just  my  2  cents.

The  problem  with  frogs  are  that  ahm  let  me  tell  you  a  story  !

I  had  8  pairs  of  oranda  goldies  big  ones  !
In  a  cement  tank,  then  one  day  i  thought  about  getting  some  salvinina  natans  from  a  nearby  lake.
Later  everyone  of  those  Goldies  died  !
The  culprit  ---  Fish  lice  !
It  seems  the  whole  water  body  is  infested  with  them  !

So  frogs  and  every  other  local  fish  from  the  lake  is  out  of  the  question  !
Lizards  and  roaches  and  guppies  and  maybe  even  cooked  meat(is  it  ok  ?)and  feeder   goldfish  probably.

the  frogs  i  feed  my  fish  come  from  my  catfish  pond,  there  are  too  many  and  they  are  too  small  for  my  cats
and  yeah  you  are  right  fish  lice  might  be  there  in  local  ponds,  so  beware

don't  feed  meat,  better  is  pure  muscle  (the  heart)

ok  my  opinion  is  not  to  feed  your  arowana  with  feeder  fish  for  2  reasons..firstly  they  can  have  all  sorts  of  diseases  and  you  aro  can  get  sick  because  of  that  and  secondly  i  personally  find  it  really  cruel  to  put  in  live  animals  in  a  small  fish  tank  where  they  have  no  chance  to  even  escape..feed  the  aro  with  pellets  and  shrimp...thats  what  i  do  and  its  really  a  good  diet..
well  thts  my  opinion  u  might  think  differently
