 Hi  friends  ,
                           i  Visited  Kolathur  yesterday  ,  found  some  rare  Fishes  that  are  not  usually  find  in  chennai  ,  So  i  thought  i  would  share  it  with  you  .  Actually  it  was  ot  planned  ,  so  i  did  not  get  the  camera  .
 the  fishes  i  found  are
 some  excellent  strains  of  oscar  ,  i  know  oscar  is  common  in  chennai  ,  but  most  of  them  would  not  have  seen  such  colors  in  such  size  ,  they  are  just
 1  -  2  inches  ,  they  are  a  little  expensive  of  the  normal  ones  ,  but  when  compared  to  the  quality  it  is  quite  low  .  though  i  made  up  my  mind  not  to  buy  oscar  ,  but  still  the  quality  made  me  to  buy  one  .  i  found  them  in  both  colors  ,  both  are  having  excellent  coloration  .  will  post  the  pic  later

 then  i  found  some  dovii  (  Wolf  Cichlid  )
 Blue  Dolphin  Cichlid
 malawi  peacock  (  He  named  it  as  Red  Shoulder)
 Frontosas
 14"+  green  Terror  (  Golden  Saum  )  first  time  i  am  seeing  it  this  big  .
 freshwater  lobsters
 some  bichirs
 Some  Beautiful  looking  Cat  fish  ,(  Though  i  di  not  get  the  name  )  i  know  they  aer  not  so  commonly  found  .

 then  the  big  one
 last  time  when  i  posted  that  i  saw  tropheus  in  kolathur   ,  i  got  a  lot  of  messages  from  our  members  ,  this  time  i  saw  two  variants  Duboisi  &  t.moori  .  i  got  his  number  ,  will  send  it  though  PM  .

 So  Some  of  our  Fellow  Chennai  Members  Who  are  looking  for  any  of  the  Fishes  above  can  Rush  Soon  ,  as  you  know  they  Don't  Keep  them  So  long  .

 thanks  &  Sorry  if  it  is  a  wrong  place  to  Post

 I  don't  think  they  grow  more  than  11-12  inches  Smile  anyway,  usually  when  we  say  5-6  inches  it  turns  out  to  be  3-4  inches  Chuckle  so.....
 Rgds

Quote:
Blue  Dolphin  Cichlid
 Malawi  Peacock

 These  two  fishes  are  always  available  in  Chennai  from  last  1.5-2  years  &   breeding  of  these  fishes  are  also  going  on  in  Chennai.

 Regarding  Frontosa  ..  hmm  ...  now  days  they  are  also  available  in  few  LFS.

 Oscars...  hmmmm  They  are  good  &  nice  colaration  but  I  guess  they  wont  be  hormone  feeded.

 Anyways...  thanks  for  sharing.

 @  Lawrence
                me  too  thought  the  same  before  seeing  them  ,  it  was  Huge  .  atleast  it  should  be  13  inches  ,

 @Rocky
                may  be  i  haven't  seen  enough  of  them  .  this  is  the  first  time  iam  seeing  peacocks  in  chennai  .  about  oscars  ,  i  don't  think  they  are  hormone  fed  ,  if  so  they  would  have  been  very  expensive  ,  also  they  are  found  in  very  high  numbers  ,  looks  like  they  must  have  bred  from  a  good  strain  ,  i  also  saw  some  black  tigers  with  excellent  coloration  .

 @Aditya
    Will  send  it  in  Pm

 Hey  they  are  also  available  in  some  LFS  here,  for  a  month  or  so.  Lobsters  are  already  wiped  out  from  the  market.  I  have  also  seen  9+"  Green  Terrors  at  different  LFS.  Also  seen  ps  duboisis  along  with  frontosas  in  one  LFS.Small  Jaguars  are  very  commonly  available  here  &  very  cheap  too.  Some  Raphael  catfishes  are  still  there  in  one  LFS.

 Are  these  fishes  distributed  throughout  some  region  or  whole  India

 I  had  my  doubts  about  Dovii  all  along  Chuckle  Jaguars  are  quite  frequently  available  at  Kolathur  but  Peacocks...NO  Sad  most  of  the  lfs  also  call  the  C.Borleyi  males  as  Peacocks  and  they  are  also  available  in  plenty...Raphel/Humbug  catfish  i  thought  should  hit  the  market  in  a  big  way  when  i  bought  couple  of  these  few  months  back  Smile
 Rgds

 then  what  were  they  ,  i  saw  two  variants  ,  did  you  see  them  both  .  Saw  them  closely  they  looked  like  t.mooris  but  with  little  white  dots  ,  anyway  they  were  tropheus  right  .

 @angad
                      they  looked  exactly  like  the  ones  u  posted  ,  so  i  got  confused.  and  FHs  are  the  most  commonly  found  .  there  is  no  shop  without  them  ,  there  is  nothing  new  in  them  .
