PostForum: Diseases & Cures   Posted: Sun Nov 06, 2011 2:44 pm   Subject: White Spots on Fish
Hi
Today morning I noticed that some of my fish are having white spots on them. Tank is around 318 litres , no plants, internal filter 2000lph, air pump running 24hrs, white gravel, no heater. Last time when I changed water used anti chlorine, meth, sendha salt. Please guide me what to do ??

If I plan to buy a heater , what should be the wattage ?

Fellow Hobbyists.... I'm a little bit confused over here..... For Oscars or I will say in case of Cichlids the filter outflow should be higher or lower ?

Well I was not aware of rice but yes fruits and vegetables were something which I was always aware of.....

I had doubts whether we can give fruits n veggies to Oscars because everyone was talking about BHM, prawans , etc. for Oscars.....

My other fish tankmates , specially silver dollars, they just love peas(diced). They were always the first ones to catch a diced pea and nibble them within seconds.

Hey Krash

I was right now checking my fish but unfortunately one of my albinos is floating on top, if I try to touch it , it goes down towards the bottom of tank. I've checked everything in it but I'm unable to understand the reason behind it.

Thanks for you reply Yogesh !

I will go and buy Hikari food. So is there anything else apart from these packed foods which we can give to Oscars ?

I've heard about boild chunks, peas, etc. Can we give these things to fish ?

PostForum: Fish Food   Posted: Tue Oct 18, 2011 3:13 pm   Subject: Oscar Food - Only Veg ???
Hi
I got tiger and albino oscars for my new tank yesterday. I've been using Tetrabits for my previous fish (silver dollars, goldies , angels). Can I give the same food to Oscars also ? I've read on IAH, in different forums , that BHM is the most common and loveable food for Oscars. Unfortunately we are not allowed to bring any kind of non veg food in our house (Mom strictly Vegetarian, so non veg allowed). I wanted to know are there any Vegetarian Foods or alternatives for Oscars with which they grow, enjoy and remain healthy as they do after eating BHM ??

The reason I'm not going for Aros is because Aros, most of the time stay close to the surface of the water and my tank will be at a point wherein nobody will be able to find that I have Aros in my tank.
