I  was  growing  some  plants  out  doors  with  DIY  CO2,  I  found  these  in  the  tub.  i  wanted  to  know  if  these  are  blood  worms  and  if  they  can  be  fed  to  fish.

The  one  on  your  finger  tip  seems  to  be.  Do  they  swim  on  the  surface  or  are  submerged.

I  get  a  lot  of  these  with  my  regular  supply  of  tubifex.  By  lot  of  these  I  mean  1  BW  per  70-100  tubifex.

 check  this    website

Beg  to  differ.  Blood  worms  are  the  larvae  of  the  chironomus  fly.  More  reading

 also  see
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chironomidae
Quiet  easy  to  culture  if  you  have  enough  space.  Must  be  de-gutted  like  tubifex  worms  before  being  fed  to  fish.  De-guting  is  normally  done  by  keeping  the  worms  in  a  clean  container  of  water  with  vigorous  aeration  &  changing  the  water  in  3  hrs  twice.  You  can  also  increase  the  nutritional  value  by  feeding  the  worms  with  liquid  vitamin  soaked  pieces  of  bread.
