Eco-complete  is  a  proven  substrate,  Madan.   Very Happy
People  from  US  swear  by  it.

There  is  a  lot  of  inquiries  for  this  Carib  Sea  Eco  -  Complete  in  Bangalore.  But  the  Indian  dealer  has  run  away.  I  request  the  Hyderabad  guys  to  identify  the  dealer  and  help  procure  the  planted  tank  products  to  us  less  fortunate  souls  in  Bangalore.
Would  like  to  do  a  review  for  a  Nano  tank  with  Eco-  Complete.  Please  assist.

Guys  Eco-complete  is  more  expensive  out  here  than  ADA  Aquasoil.  These  are  the  few  reasons  why  I  prefer  Aquasoil  over  Eco-complete.
 1.  Say  for  a  10G  tank  I  would  need  2  20LB  bags  of  Eco  complete  at  23$/each,  to  get  the  desired  substrate  depth,  but  in  case  of  Aqua  soil  I  need  just  one  9  liter  bag  at  28$.
 2.  In  case  of  Eco-complete  you  also  pay  for  the  water  it  comes  packed  in.  Aquasoil  is  dry  granules  so  you  get  more  volume  of  the  actual  substrate.
 3.  In  my  experience  the  plant  growth  is  more  robust  with  aquasoil  than  Eco.
Aquasoil  definitely  grows  hard  to  grow  softwater  species  better  than  Eco-complete.
 4.  I  do  not  like  the  look  of  Eco-complete.  The  grains  are  of  varying  size  ranging  from  a  few  mms  to  small  pebbles.  The  new  Eco-complete  which  has  come  out  has  a  lot  of  red  granules  in  it  giving  it  a  very  odd  look.
 5.  Ecocomplete  does  nothing  to  your  pH  and  keeps  it  neutral.  Aquasoil  helps  to  reduce  the  pH  considerably.
The  only  pro  about  Eco  I  think  is,  it  is  a  lot  forgiving  for  a  beginner  than  aquasoil.  You  can  plant  and  replant  with  out  blowing  up  a  dust  cloud.
For  me  the  Aquasoil  Pros  definitely  outweighs  the  cons.

 Thanks
 Bhushan

Hey  trevor...man  you  are  making  my  life  miserable  with  this  post...this  is  my  number.   ROFL

People  are  calling  me  up.   Mad

Now,  let  me  clear  this  confusion  once  and  for  all.  This  is  not  a  serious  thing  but  a  great  practical  humour  done  by  life,  itself.

What  happened  was,  I  was  doing  a  logd  research  on  the  best  substrate  that  are  available  for  planted  tanks,  cause  I  was  looking  to  use  the  best  one  for  my  tanks.  I  concluded  that  there  are  2  substrate  that  are  of  equal  repute,  plus  minus,  other  pros  and  cons.

One  was  Eco-complete,  and  the  other  one  was,  ADA  Amazonia  ii.  I  wanted  to  use  Eco  complete  and  not  Amazonia  ii,  cause  I  found  out  that  Eco  complete  is  compatible  with  EI.

Searching  for  the  same,  I  had  visited  their  site  many  a  times  and  have  had  communications  with  them  regarding  the  availability  of  the  same  in  India.  But,  I  found  out  that  they  do  not  have  any  dealers  in  the  entire  Asia,  let  alone  India.  It  is  mainly  available  in  US,  Canada  and  few  European  countries.  Knowing  that,  I  wanted  to  know  what  are  the  requisites  for  becoming  a  dealer  for  Asia  and  had  expressed  interest  for  a  reply  and  posted  my  details  in  their  web  site.  Thats  all  I  know.

Then,  one  fine  morning,  some  of  the  fellow  hobbyists  from  Hyd,  called  me  up,  saying  that  the  caribsea  dealer  lives  in  your  vicinity.  I  was  astonished  as  I  was  searching  for  the  same  for  almost  a  year  or  so...They  also  told  me  that  some  one  has  found  out  from  the  site  and  the  address  is  also  given  on  IAH.

I  immediately  saw  this  post  and  was  shocked  to  see  my  residential  address  as  a  dealer  for  the  product.  I  immediately  checked  with  the  website  and  saw  that  it  is  true  that  my  address  is  given  there  as  the  dealer.  I  was  definitely  embarrassed  due  to  the  same  and  thought  it  is  better  to  keep  quiet.  How  ever  one  of  the  feloow  Hyderabadi  hobbyist  called  up  during  that  time  and  I  told  him  the  entire  story  and  we  both  had  a  good  laugh.

Now,  I  am  surprised  once  again  as  to  how  Trevor  came  across  my  phone  number  in  respect  to  the  dealership?

Thats  all  folks,  have  a  good  laugh.

   Smile

Rana,  I  have  never  used  Seachem  Florite  but  at  20$  for  a  15lb  bag  it  is  even  more  expensive  than  Aquasoil  and  Eco  complete.  The  reviews  about  it  from  other  NASH  club  members  have  not  been  great.  Also  it  is  lot  worse  in  clouding  the  tank  water  than  anything  else.  I  believe  its  just  pure  old  Laterite  soil  which  we  get  in  India  in  a  fancy  packing,
 Thanks
 Bhushan

its  baked  laterite,  mostly.  Cons  are  cloudiness,  when  ever  you  move  around  your  plants  and  rigorous  washing  that  needs  to  be  done  before  putting  it  into  the  tank.

 But  its  a  good  substrate.

"Is  there  any  lawyers  around  here?  I  have  taken  a  screen  shot  of  the  page,  Â I  want  to  take  it  up  legally,  if  possible?  On  a  serious  note."

Dev.........  make  sure  you  have  protected  your  back  properly  before  taking  any  legal  step.  If  they  have  any  kind  of  written  communication  from  you  regarding  delearship  in  India,  then  you  will  be  in  danger.

By  the  way....  are  you  really  waiting  for  their  response  to  give  you  the  delearship??  If  it  is  true,  then  wish  you  all  the  best.  Way  to  go.
