Hi Maninder,
I have read your post and it was awesome! My tank is into its 23rd day as of yesterday like yours. But there are few issues and mistakes in my tank so not having lush green effect
1. I started with lack of experience in planted aquarium
2. I do not have CO2 pressurized cylinders for a 4 feet planted tank, just using DIY. Though it works, I need to keep an eye on every day
3. No filtration on the tank so far, I just connected 2 power heads (100ltr/hr) with filtration media which is not enough on filtering as well as cycling the water .
4. When I bought the plants, I was unlucky to get some good stem plants but began with available plants at that time. Also planted them like a mesh,
Not a pro so I have poor scaping (or nothing there ) and learning and getting from posts like yours and people over IAH on all these that I missed. Will take those inputs from your tank and will improve mine. Thanks for routing me with your thread information |

Sure Kaushik,
I had the plants picked from Camy yesterday and had planted them on available places. As I said I have not decided on scaping the tank. So would take your suggestions for sure and will contact you while I setup with desired varieties and ready Thanks for your suggestions |

@Kaushik,
More over I had not been getting good results out of echinodorus osiris (??) getting more brown leafs. May be dosing would help. I planned to get rid of 50% of cabomba at the final stage. So let me plan and set thing in next 30 days. |

Not bad, Ravi. Still a long way to go for the lush green aquarium. |

Hello All,
Just a snap of day 37, plants growing steadily and every time I change the DIY CO2 source (refill/redo), in next two days pearling begins and vanishes in the next 3 days. I began dosing micros as of now and with a photo period of 11 hrs.
Newly added plants leafing out in 8 days. So this gives a confidence of tank getting matured I would be adding pressurized CO2 very shortly (in fact hunting for cylinders) and a good filtration in next couple of days. Below are some pictures. I would add some more plant varieties and do scaping at that time. Now its open for suggestions and shouting
Lot of bubbles at surface and plants are kind of breathing A lovely vision though it happens for a short span of 2-3 days
The complete tank as of now (Day 37)
Pearling on plants, am not a good photographer as well as am not sure if this is what you really call it as good pearling. The bubbles are over many other plants and it goes from plants to surface too. I captured an easy one to me.

If I were you, I would restart the DIY CO2 thingy every 4 days. because it works only for four days. And watching the tank pearling in a feel good thing, so I am sure its worth the trouble! |

You are absolutely right Nitin, and I change my CO2 source every 5-6 days and won't leave more than a week at all. All these are for next couple of weeks
And do not want to add any more plants until I make it a pressurized setup (mean time no delay too), being the reason for sparsely planted. My tank is now waiting for the EHEIM that I ordered with you
Thank you Shankar! |

That's an interesting background. How did you make it or where did you buy/get it? |

Ravi,
Any idea regarding what material was used to coat the thermocoal sheet? Is it regular cement mix and some paint? What paint could we use which will not have side-effects in the long run?
Thanks,
Satish. |

Good show Ravi! All your hardwork is giving you the desired results.
Once you have your pressurized CO2, be ready with your seat belts....
Cheers,
Prem |
