Going  through  my  old  collection  of  photographs  I  became  nostalgic  and  wanted  to  share  the  moments.

The  following  posts  are  both  for  hobbyist  as  well  as  myself  if  I  can  get  some  pointers  for  the  mistakes  made  by  me.   Smile

The  following  photo  was  taken  by  Trevor  of  my  planted  tank  set  up(posted  with  Trevor's  permission)

The  masters  around  you  were  actually  more  than  a  handful,  to  inspire  people  into  professional  planted  tanks.   Very Happy

The  tank  on  the  left  most  side  was  my  first  one  after  coming  to  Bangalore.  It  had  been  running  continuously  since  1993.

The  routine  was  plonk  in  some  plants,  add  fishes  and  every  three  months  strip  the  tank  and  re-do  it  again.  Chuckle

At  about  the  time  I  joined  IAH  it  was  home  to  one  tiger  loach,  one  albino  red  tail  and  about  half  a  dozen  gold  fishes.
The  gold  fishes  were  looking  like  pineapples  with  their  scales  sticking  out  and  I  had  no  idea  why?  The  food  was  live  tubifex  when  ever  I  got  them  or  regularly  freeze  dried  tubifex  cubes.

 Another  photo  of  that  tank....

This  photo  was  taken  one  and  a  half  years  after  I  joined  IAH.  This  was  my  Crypt  jungle.

 Regards,
 Nayak.

 Shankar,
True,  they  were  very  helpful  and  generous.  Very Happy

 Thanks,  Dinesh.

Vince,  Thank  you.  I  am  following  your  threads  regarding  aquascaping  with  great  interest.  Really  beautiful.  Very Happy

Dr  kaushik,  Thank  you.  I  really  appreciate  your  posts  regarding  medications.  If  I  had  the  inputs  you  had  posted  regarding  droopsy  I  might  have  saved  those  goldfishes.

Guys,  Please  bear  with  me  if  I  do  not  reply  immediately.  I  am  posting  from  my  factory  and  lot  of  interruption.
Hence  I  will  post  replies  on  Saturdays.  Smile

 Regards,
 Nayak.

This  is  the  oldest  photo  I  have  of  my  first  tank.  It  was  taken  in  1997  long  before  I  joined  IAH.
Check  my  hair  Chuckle   as  also  the  amazon  sword  at  the  back  of  the  aquarium.

The  year  2004  dec.  Having  browsed  through  every  conceivable  subject  on  the  net  it  suddenly  occurred  to  me  to  check  for  goldfish  diseases.  I  thought  I  might  find  one  or  two  foriegn  sites  and  none  about  India.  The  thought  that  there  will  be  dedicated  sites  for  a  hobby  like  aquarium!Huh

I  was  unprepared  for  what  followed.  All  the  three  search  engines  I  used  at  that  time(Yahoo,Google  and  ask  Jeeves)  threw  up  multiple  pages.

And  in  that  maze  of  information  I  found  this!

 http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/people/norfolk_madansubramanian.html
 http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/people/norfolk_rajkumar.html
 http://www.aquarticles.com/articles/people/norfolk_adip.html

Shocked  was  not  exactly  the  word  that  would  have  expressed  my  feelings.  Proud-100%.

 Regards,
 Nayak.
