 wow,
now  that  is  a  very  assertive  way  of  describing  beauty.
So  is  a  hybrid  like  Beyonce  not  as  beautiful  as  a  pure  black  african  wearing  grass  skirts?
I  guess  this  would  be  a  personal  preference.

I  dont  see  anyting  wrong  with  hybrids.
I  like  both  pure  and  hybrids.

But  personally,  I  think  Mixed  people  are  more  beautiful  than  a  pure  bred  person.

your  concept  of  Hybrid  is  misleading.  You  cannot  call  people  of  interracial  unions  as  hybrids.
Personally  I  feel  it  is  kind  of  insulting  to  say  so.

Human  x  human  is  not  a  mixed  bred  or  Hybrid...
If  a  human  is  crossed  to  a  Gorrila  maybe  ,  the  outcome  of  that  will  be  called   a  hybrid..   ROFL

To  get  your  facts  straight,  find  out  the  scientific  name  for  flowerhorns.   Thumb Up

 That's  racial.

Tread  careful  James,  I'm  not  against  the  poor  fish  but  the  people  who  created  it  and  surrounded  it  with  hype  and  myth  to  promote  their  creation.  Failed  experiments,  have  devastated  many  water  bodies  near  the  breeding  farms.  We  are  not  gullible.

okay  i  will  be  very  careful  about  it  from  now  on.   But  I  never  said  anything  about  myth  or  hype.   I  just  said  this  is  a  beautiful  fish  i  just  bought.   I  didnt  even  say,  you  need  to  buy  or  you  need  to  find  it  beautiful.   Please  just  have  some  consideration  about  other  peoples  hobby  because,  I  dont  say  anything  bad  to  you  and  your  interests.   Hopefully  you  can  find  it  in  your  heart  to  accept  one  another  as  friends  with  fishes.

 Thanks  James.
 Read  this-
 http://indianaquariumhobbyist.com/community/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=6689

 Its  funny  and  scary.
Blood  Parrots  are  mostly  sterile  so  they  don't  attract  the  ire  that  FH's  attract.  There  won't  be  too  much  of  an  issue  if  people  could  create  sterile  hybrids.  I  started  off  by  keeping  FH's.  Now  am  totally  against  keeping  it.  Its  a  personal  view.  Why,  even  introduced  species  like  Tilapia  are  a  problem  nowadays.  Many  food  fish  varieties  are  hybrids.  But  FH's  are  bred  for  aggression.  They  are  killers.  One  of  my  juveniles  fell  into  a  tank  of  adult  Piranah's  and  tormented  and  bullied  them  into  a  corner  of  the  4  footer!  Even  a  fully  grown  Oscar  can't  hold  its  own  against  a  Fh  half  its  size.  Now  imagine  if  they  get  into  our  waters.

Natbox:  you  may  find  plenty  around  Kolathur.  But  they  won't  be  as  colourful  as  the  ones  in  the  pics.  They  are  the  ones  that  do  not  possess  the  desirable  qualities  of  fh's  (colour,  hump  etc)  and  hence  discarded.  They  still  have  the  aggression  though.  Be  careful  netting  it,  don't  get  into  the  water  Very Happy  .  If  you  do  net  a  few,  they  may  disappoint.  I  heard  they  taste  great  Chuckle  .  Wouldn't  mind  a  few  myself  Thumb Up  .

I  will  try  to  take  some  pictures  when  i  get  a  chance  of  one  of  my  flowerhorn  tank  setups.
Its  basically  a  wetdry  system  and  the  base  is  foam  rock  design  with  some  pebbles  and  background  is  blue  paper.  not  much  gravel  so  the  feces  will  be  filtered  easily  when  it  reaches  the  pump.   Ill  try  to  do  it  this  weekend.   Thanks  guys  for  being  nice  to  me  Smile
