Gokul,
the plants are not attached to the driftwood. they were floating on top. i simply placed some wood to weigh it down. the wood is holding it down. the plants are hydrilla and one more grass like plant. pics attached |

Yes, the second pic is a Najas sp. Hard to tell which one from that pic. but most probably Najas indica.
