 @matsya
 What  cold  water  fish?  I  guess  gold  fish  will  eat  the  stem  plants?  And  also  the  volume  of  water  will  be  a  little  less?
 That  container  presently  has  about  100  baby  apple  snails  already...

 Suggest  you  put  in  some  more  plants  and  add  some  good  guppies.  You  don't  have  to  feed  them  much,  they  should  be  happy  feeding  on  algae.

 cherry  barbs  sound  good  Smile
 Channas  not  possible,since  covering  this  container  would  be  difficult...  And  though  i  catch  frogs  bare  hands,cant  even  think  of  keeping  them!  Chuckle
 even  salvinis  will  be  ok,everything  depends  on  availability  of  the  fish   Smile
 Keep  the  suggestions  coming!

You  can  keep  only  a  pair  of  goldies  because  the  container  size  is  small.

 I  have  around  5  containers,  exactly  like  one  shown  in  the  pic.  I  have  white  mollies  in  1st,  red  ones  in  2nd,  pinapple  sword  tail  in  third,  shrimps  in  forth  and  zebras  in  5th.  Guess  livebearers  are  best  for  small  containers.  They  keep  increasing  in  number,  and  even  if  few  die  due  to  temperature,  hardly  matters   Smile

 I  think  gold  fish  would  do  well.  As  for  their  eating  plants  go  for  some  hardy  ones,  my  goldies  don’t  disturb  sword  plants  I  have  potted  plants.  Some  pygmy  chain  sword   (actually  just  started  about   3  weeks  back),  some  java  moss,  some  Hygro  a  lily  and  some  rolata.  They  don’t  allow  java  moss  to  grow  keep  pulling  it  and  when  they  get  chance  they  dig  out  the  rolata  but  haven't  yet  disturbed  the  others.  You  can  see  some  pics  of  my  set  up  in  the  forum  for  open  containers

 You  can  go  for  koi  as  well
 Hope  that  helps
