Nice  tank,  Abhay.  Just  feel,  this  may  not  be  big  enough  for  Koi.

 How  is  the  filteration  done?

Hi  abhay, nice  pond...How  have  you  planted  the  water  lily?
My  suggestion  would  be  to  increase  the  water  level  a  little...
But  over  all  it  must  be  looking  good   Thumb Up

@  Shankar  :  Thanks  for  the  compliment.  Even  this  large  a  pond  won't  be  sufficient  for  koi??!  Wow  -  then  will  need  to  return  them  once  they  grow  large  and  replace  with  juveniles.  Currently  their  size  is  about  6  inches.

For  filtration,  water  is  lifted  from  the  right  corner  and  there  is  a  large  tank  behind  the  water  fall  wall  that  has  compartments  with  sponge,  bio  balls  and  brick  pieces  in  each  of  the  compartments  and  water  routes  through  each.  The  sponges  are  cleaned  every  2  days.  So  far  have  seen  it  doing  a  decent  job.

Aeration  is  through  the  water  flowing  over  the  pebbled  wall.

@  Shubhankar:  Thanks  for  the  compliment.  If  you  see  closely  you  will  see  a  round  hollow  which  has  gardensoil  covered  with  pebbles  -  the  lotus  is  planted  in  that.

@  Ravi:  Thank  for  the  compliment.

Nice  Job  Abhay.  I  have  a  question.  What  is  your  plan  to  fight  with  Delhi  Summer?  Easily  the  Outdoor  Temparature  will  touch  45  degree  in  next  May/June.  As  you  have  low  depth  of  water,  the  water  will  be  too  hot  for  any  fishes.

@  Charlie:  Will  put  up  the  fish  pics  in  a  few  days  when  I  get  the  chance  to  take  the  pics.

@  Tirtha:  Couple  of  things  -  first  there  is  a  huge  palm  that  gives  shade  from  direct  sunlight  through  out  the  day.  Second  the  water  trickling  down  the  pebbled  wall  has  a  cooling  effect  on  the  water.  What  we  noticed  this  summer  was  that  while  the  temp  climbs  up  a  little  it  never  was  too  hot  for  the  fishes  and  they  survived  the  summer  with  no  casualties.  Will  be  monitoring  the  temp  closely  next  year  and  if  necessary  will  have  a  chiller  installed.
