Had  planned  a  small  group  order  of  Wild  Discus  directly  from  Brazil.  Mainly  it  was  Tefe  Green  and  Heckels.  The  fish  all  arrived  today  morning.  So  far  all  of  them  are  doing  well.  Here  are  some  of  the  pictures.  The  water  is  brownish  in  colour  better  pictures  will  follow  soon.

Thanks  guys  they  are  settling  down  very  nicely.  The  general  belief  is  that  these  wild  discus  are  very  expensive.  But  they  are  only  half  the  price  of  the  domestic  ones  and  also  since  these  are  coming  directly  from  the  exporters  in  Brazil.  And  you  have  to  be  very  patient  with  them,  as  they  do  not  colour  up  immediately  and  take  time  to  get  used  to  the  conditions,  but  they  are  much  better  than  the  domestic  ones  as  their  colours  are  natural.  I  do  not  want  to  debate  which  varieties  of  discus  are  better.  For  me  i  like  them  more  than  the  domestic  ones  and  every  one  has  their  own  opinion.  Here  are  some  more  photos  ......

always  believed  that  a  naturally  occuring  strain  is  more  beautiful  to  look  at  than  a  strain  which  has  been  created  artifically.  i  really  envy  you  Wink  .  would  love  to  keep  some  but  i  am  sure  even  at  half  price  the  price  would  still  be  a  bomb  Very Happy.  and  if  your  past  photos  are  to  be  seen  i  expect  that  the  new  batch  will  look  awesome  after  some  time.   Thumb Up

 Hi  Sridhar,

They  are  looking  good  to  settle  down  earlier  than  you  expect  them  to  be.
Bit  surprised  why  Heckels  &  TGs  again?  Bet  you  must  be  having  Red  Alenquers  &  RSGs  on  your  list  as  well  in  future.  Smile

They  look  super,  take  care  of  them  like  the  previous  batch  and  they  will  be  come  out  great.
I  really  envy  you,  I  think  I  will  start  a  new  Bank  account  just  for  ordering  Discus  via  you  sometime

Agree  with  this.  Ones  that  I  got  from  Canada,  almost  a  couple  of  years  back  were  surprisingly  priced.  And  I  always  wondered  that  I  got  some  special  discount  for  no  reason.

Sridhar,  why  does  Brazil  need  to  import  Discus?   Chuckle

Keep  up  your  wild  passion.   Smile
