 Hi  Srikant,

Nice  discus  you  have  got  there.  Thumb Up
I  guess,  your  tank  is  2  footer  in  which  you  have  kept  them,  am  I  right?  If  so!  There  is  only  1  answer  from  my  end  >  Move  them  to  bigger  tank  ASAP.

BTW,  from  where  did  you  got  them  &  what  are  you  feeding  them?

 Hi  Rocky,

Thanks,  You  were  the  sole  person  who  replied  to  my  post.  Thanks  for  the  support.  Currently  i  am  keeping  them  in  a  2*1.5*1.5  i.e.  33  gallon  tank.  Soon  i  would  be  moving  them  to  a  bigger  tank.  As  of  now  they  seem  happy  and  are  feeding  upon
Tetrabits,  Frozen  tubiflex,  blood  worms  and  brine  shrimp.  Initially  there  were  some  restrictions  on  it  having  the  food,  then  it  all  improved  and  now  are  doing  good.

These  discus,  I  got  it  from  one  of  my  friend  in  bangalore  only.

 Regards,
 Srikanth

Looks  good.  Better  cover  the  tank  from  all  sides  except  the  front  so  that  there  is  no  reflection.  Have  you  started  water  change.

 Hi  Srikanth,

Nice  to  see  some  pictures  of  your  wild  fish,  am  sure  they  will  look   much  better  as  they  grow  .  As  others  i  would  also  suggest  you  go  in  for  a  slightly  bigger  tank.

 Hi  Srikanth,

this  is  Heiko  Bleher  and  I  just  saw  your  photos  of  3  wild  discus  rather  juvenile  ones,  I  guess  7-8  month  old.  The  following  you  MUST  (this  is  my  friendly  advice)  be  aware  and  hopefully  do:

 1.  You  should  NOT  have  the  wild  discus  together  with  hybrids  (tank  breed  variants),  they  do  NOT  go  (and  grow)  well  together.  You  can  read  some  of  my  lessons  of  wild  discus  in  www.discuspassion.net:

 2.  You  need  to  feed  theseyoung  discus  AT  LEAST  3-times-daily  if  you  want  them  to  be  good  shape  and  colourful.

 3.  You  MUST  get  one  part  of  the/your  aquarium  with  white  fine  sand  (as  the  wild  discus  need  this  -  better  to  read  my  complete  monster  book  about  wild  discus  in  nature,  Bleher's  Discus  volume  I  -  as  volume  II  will  be  about  tank  breed  ones).

These  are  just  some  and  short  essential  informations.  You  have  there  (at  least  on  the  first  picture)  Symphysodon  haraldi,  a  so  called  blue  discus  (note  that  also  the  brown  discus  belong  to  that  species).  The  other  tree  photos  are  not  clear  and  I  cannot  see  if  they  are  really  Tefé-Discus(=Symphysodon  aequifasciatus),the  so  called  green  discus.  Or  you  have  better  photos  or  you  wait.  You  can  see  from  the  hundreds  of  wild  discus  with  precise  location  and  identifications  in  my  book  also  what  you  have  (what  they  are).

All  the  best  and  take  care,

 always

 Hello  Bleher,
First  of  all  a  very  hearty  welcome  to  IAH,  I  am  really  honoured  to  have  received  a  reply  from  a  person  of  such  a  cadre.  Thanks  a  ton  for  the  advice  and  i  would  follow  it.

I  am  planning  to  have  only  wild  discus  along  with  some  plecos  and  corydoras.

Currently  I  am  feeding  them  three  to  four  times  a  day  with  different  food  combinations  Bloodworms,  tubiflex  worms  ,  Tetra  bits  and  Brine  Shrimp.

Shortly  i  would  be  moving  them  to  a  bigger  tank  and  planning  to  have  ADA  Nile  or  ADA  Branco.

 Hi  Sridhar,
Thanks,  i  would  be  covering  the  three  sides  of  the  tank  with  black  cover,  so  that  there  would  be  no  reflection.

 Hi  Unni  and  Yogesh,
I  would  try  to  post  inline  images  going  forward

Thanks  nayak  sir,  adip  and  niki.

I  would  be  upgrading  my  tank  this  week  to  a  44  gallon  one,  currently  going  on  with  25%  water  change  every  alternative  day  with  water  temp  28  degrees.

 Regards
 Srikanth
