Will rescape the whole setup. Will keep you updated.

Man, this is so disturbing! Why don't you let a scape reach its full potential? You are doing injustice to your own work...You should buy more tanks if your inner artist looses control so often |

Nice one Tirtha. I can see you have tied two pieces of driftwood together and both the pieces are branching into each other.
If possible remove the left piece and allow it to branch outwards, it would look more nice. |

You are letting down a lot of your fans man
With the amount of time and planning that you took for this I expected that you would at least keep it for three months {Or the 100 days shot as Nitin calls it}
Best of Luck with the next scape. May the aquarium gods smile up on thee

Tirtha,
Lovely pieces of wood, but I would agree with Prem here. While currently the base of the left hand side piece is at a 45 degree angle to the slate, I would suggest you let the base rest flat on the slate. That would give a lovely outward branching effect all around and also creat a little space in the middle, which you could conceivably fill with stems, or even some bolbitis/ java fern/ moss. Whatever you choose to do with it, I believe that this arrangement would maximize the beauty of the wood pieces. At the moment, IMO, it is not at its full potential. Do give it a thought. |

Sad that you ripped off your tank. You could do better with the wood though. Why not use them as individual pieces, both facing away from the center or both at opposite ends, facing each other. |

Camy/Ashwin, thanks for the valuable input. Take a look below for the 2 piece of woods what I have used to make this structure.
Left One::
Right One
You both are right that left wood is branching into the right wood and it should not be like that. But the main problem is the left one is having very few branches which are outwards but the right one have lots of branches which is going straight upwards. If I put the left branches outwords then there will be huge gap inbetween the 2 woods and that is looking really ugly. The next problem is the size of the woods. As Ashwin said, If I would let it branch outwards to the front, I will not have any space at background for planting and the whole structure has to be moved towards the back glass. Even after getting this inward structure, it is taking arround 2 feet width. Let me try out this one with plantation and see how it comes out. Otherwise anytime we can change it. |

Unni.... agree with you. I should give the last scape minimum 3 months to mature. But the problem is time. It's Jan already and after 3months only Gurgaon summer will start. That time I wont be able to try any moss in my tank. So If I start this scape now, then I will have 3 months time to see it matured.

Dinesh, according to the inputs I had to remove the Tumb Stone from the tank.And if I remove it, why not trying out something different, when specially I got hold of some driftwoods? It was really hard to resist trying out the woods.

After seeing your, camy's and Ashwins comment Now I have to give a try to the wood structure once again. Will try to place them outwards and will post all the tryouts. |

I am not going to do any processing with these woods. I will just drop them in tank. Already I have kept 1 piece in my tank and there is no leaching. May be I will get little bit of Fungus on the wood, but it's ok for me. :)
Don't wait for the wood to sink. Attach it with a heavy rock and drop it into aquarium.

My daughter keeping me too busy now a days and I could not able to update the Journal for a long time. 10th Of January I rescaped the tank. Added some new plants and removed the big rocks. This is how the tank looks like after 13 days.
Night Shot with 2 T8 Tubes.
Right after the setup, I became busy running between Hospital and Home and the tank got Nasty Green Water attack along with GDA. 2 Days back I have added 3 Ottos, 2 Common Pleco along ith 4 Angels and some rams. Within 2 nights 90% GDA wiped away. Now am left with Green Water. Will use Daphnia to remove them if I can find a starter culter otherwise have to invest on an UV sterilizer.
Don't ask me to post a picture when Lights are on, cause in Day time water is 80% cloudy. |
