This is my first cement tank.... It's more than 15 years old.
It has been my favourite tank and has seen somany fishes ......mollies.. goldfishes... gouramies.....fighters....Koicarps... Angel fish..barbs.. danios.....plecos ........now chiclids(malawi)
Once during a water change i accidently hit the glass of the tank with a bucket and then i filled the tank with water and it started to crack.. ....... Then got some mseal and fixed it ( It happened almost 5 years back)......till date no problem ....except the looks....
Whatever fish i rear in this tank It grows faster and healthy and hence I love this tank.
Here comes my other two ...cement tanks
The last tank ....is goldfish only tank.......
I have tried breeding goldfish for many years...but i never succeeded in it before..
Once I had few gold fish fries which were almost 0.75 cm when i spotted it in a heavily planted tank..........
After coming here to IAH.... last year i had successfully breed the following fishes - Fighters.(Spl thanks to Hayath....only after reading his article.. .I tried )...and. Gourami...gold fish......
Gold fish and the Gold fish fries which i have bred are in that tank.
Here is a close up of that tank. All the gold fish went inside when i went there to shoot. ........(..They might have thought i have bought gun to shoot.... .. )
The next is the longest tank i have ......
The height and the width of the tank is very less............ hence all i have is smaller fishes in this tank..
This tank has around 200 Red platies, around 50+ White, black and grey(hybrid) mollies , 20+ Gouramies, 1 Angel, a Pink color Danio Couple, 5 Tiger Barbs..a 7" Common Pleco...10+ Siamese Fighters........ 1 Tetra.......etc.
I have two varities of plants ...which i got from a LFS almost 2 years back.....
now they are everywhere......but they were better a couple of months back.....
These plants are planted in Bowls with River sand...
In the second Photo you mgiht see a metal container (Drum) in the corner of the Picture..
I have two Drums.........One with 4 iridescent shark 8"( - 2 Albino and 2 Black )+ 2 Koi Carp about 7 " and 1 Pleco about 8"......... and there is one more drum... which is empty now..since all the Tilapia fish i was growing in it died last month...when somebody not knowingly washed a cement mixing basin in it.
Other than this i have two tanks for Oscars and one tank for Breeding........
and few Bowls for Fighters.
I Just wanted to share my tank view with you all and would love to hear comments about my tank. |

Hey Aquarist, Nice tanks and a somewhat different setup than the regular in house tanks. Thanks for sharing the pictures and details.
I guess these tanks are in your garden area. Don't your fishes face any threat from birds or cats? |

Thanks buddy
It may sound odd..
i don't have any filteration in the tank....
I don't do regular 50% water change.......
I normally refill the water when it gets evaporated....
I do a 100% water change once in 6 months.......(i have a water outlet pipe there in the bottom) |

Thanks Mr.Kaushik,
Actually when i saw the crack ... I just drained the water and left it dry and then got MSeal and just applied it on both sides ........that's it. ..just did it as a temporary solution.. but i didn't face any problem other than the odd look...
I should have changed the glass...but then everything has to be reworked entirely.... ... and i wonder whether it will be leak proof as i have it now... hence i left it as it is ...... |

Thanks for your compliment Mr.Prakash,
Yes these tanks are in outdoors......
Till date i don't have any problem with birds and Cats....
Birds .......sometimes Crows come here to drink water(but very rarely).
Cats ........ earlier there were many stray cats which roam near this tank...but never caught a fish.........
The problem which i faced during these years are ......
My mollies esp red mollies .........tend to .jump out of the tank when it starts to rain. ..
Algae bloom...... |

| Even I have a cemented tank, but I have never seen its bottom. So much of algae. Was wondering if there's a way to get rid of it without damaging plants. Am thinking of installing pressurised CO2 in it. |
