I  dont  Know  the  id,  but  have  plenty  of  this  in  nearby  pond.
I  have  also  found  this  in  two  brackish  setups.  Spreads  very  rapidly  in  all  means,  even  produces  seeds.  In  summer,  it  produces  yellow  flowers.  Not  parrot  feather  or  milfoil.  Ceratophyllum  demersum  is  another  plant.  (see  wikipedia).  The  name  foxtail  suits  well  to  that  plant,  but  for  the  plant  in  question  have  more  branches  .Foxtail  can  be  used  as  spawning  media  for  gold  fish(  I  have  done  it)  because  it  can  be  cleaned  easily.  But  this  plant  cant  be  cleaned  well  because  of  its  branches  and  seeds

Hope  these  xtra  hints  help  in  identifying.

Exactly!  Haven't  seen  any  flower  though.  Newer  shoots  in  a  few  branches  were  bright  green  and  some  branches  had  reddish  shoots.

Thanks  guys,  but  none  of  the  guesses  so  far.

Will  try  a  better  picture  of  this  very  attractive  plant.

Shankar,  this  plant  family  commonly  known  as  bladderworts  have  those  small  bubble  like  bladders  which  they  use  to  trap  small  invertebrates  and  crustaceans.  The  obtain  selective  nutrition  that  way.
