your  pic  is  brilliant  Trevor,  mine  look  so  different  to  yours  in  the  pattern,  will  this  depend  on  the  catchment  areas?
once  i've  uploaded  i'll  put  a  pic  of  one  of  mine.  Thumb Up
 mick

Thanks  Mick.  The  patterns  could  depend  on  the  locations.  Your  pics  are  quite  good  too.
Here  is  a  recent  pic  of  our  exclusive  fish  the  Etroplus  Canarensis

Thanks  Madhu,  i've  seen  all  the  pattens  that  come  in  one  shipment  but  i've  never  seen  any  where  the  bars  are  full  at  the  back  of  the  fish  like  Trevors.
and  it  also  seems  that  we  only  get  mature  largish  specimen  over  here,  i've  never  seen  a  juvenile  coming  over  yet.

 mick

Can  anyone  help  identify  the  fry  on  the  left.

A  rupee  coin  to  help  gauge  the  size.  Looks  like  a  tilapia  fry.

Trevor  Saar,  could  it  be  a  dwarf  puffer  fry?

One  of  the  few  adult  Canarensis  that  we  caught  during  our  trip.

 Another  one

Looks  like  a  Tilapia  fry  to  me.

After  a  conversation  with  Madhu,  I'm  leaning  towards  P.  setnai  for  the  barb,  rather  than  P.  narayani.  I  did  not  think  their  range  extended  this  far  south.  Anyhoo,  either  that,  or  a  new  species.

I'm  inclined  to  a  tilapia  fry  as  well.   But  how  come  you  have  fry  without  adult  tilapia?
