i  also  have  a  cement  tank  mate..  cement  tanks  dont  need  filteration   Thumb Up   but  ..  the  thing  is  u  a  have  plants  in  there  ..do  u  have  some   sand  or  some  other  substrate  ...

Sorry  ..  I  just  have  missed  this  thread............
Good,  but  i  don't  have  any  substrate.......
I  always  used  to  have  plants  in  2"  height  plastic  container  with  just  river  sand  in  it.  but  currently  i  have  placed  river  sand  in  a  small  6"X3"x2.5"  glass  container  in  one  tank  and  in  a  flower  pot  in  another  tank.
But  other  than  that  it's  a  bare  bottom  tank.

Even  I  have  a  cemented  tank,  but  I  have  never  seen  its  bottom.  So  much  of  algae.  Was  wondering  if  there's  a  way  to  get  rid  of  it  without  damaging  plants.  Am  thinking  of  installing  pressurised  CO2  in  it.

Good,  My  mollies  always  take  care  of  the  algae...  they  eat  a  lot  of  algae.
why  don't  u  try  it.  By  the  way  what  fishes  do  you  have  it  there?

Wonderful  cement  tanks  Mr.  Jeyanth.  Kindly  post  your  other  indoor  tanks  and  breeding  sets.  Back  to  the  cement  tanks,  fantastic  plant  growth.  Please  share  the  trick  of  the  healthy  growth  sans  algae.   Clapping

Thanks  for  the  compliment  Mr.Debarghya  Smile
Other  than  the  cement  tanks  and  the  drums,  I  have  three  Glass  tanks.
30X12x18  (A  Pair  of  Oscars  exists  there   9+  inch  -)
 Tiger  pair
I  have  24X12x12  (two  tanks,Mainly  made  for  breeding  programmes-  but  currently  it  houses  one  albinho  Oscar  around  5  inch  and  the  other  one  has  the  Malawi  chiclids  which  were  in  the  cement/glass  tank)
I  am  right  now  using  the  Cement/glass  tank  as  a  breeding  tank  for  Zebra  danios  (Pink).
Pink  zebra  danio  in  cement/glass  tank
Regarding  plant  growth,  I  don't  take  any  spl  care...  Smile  .
I  just  plant  them  in  small  containers  with  river  sand..  Smile
Do  you  know  the  names  of  these  two  plants?
Fertilizer  dosing,  co2  dosing,  removing  algae  are  all  done  by  my  fishes  Very Happy  .They  just  eat  away  the  algae,  but  i  still  have  algae  on  the  leaves  which  are  immersed..  but  lot  of  leaves  comes  above  the  water  as  the  height  of  the  tank  is  very  less.  They  act  as  natural  barriers  of  sunlight  (i  guess).  The  tank  gets  direct  sunlight  in  the  morning  for  around  3  hrs  in  the  evening  for  3  hours.
Earlier  four  five  years  i  had  problems  with  Hair  algae  Sad  ,  but  now  red  mollies  and  platies  take  care  of  it.   Very Happy

True  and  thanks  for  your  wishes.
I  think  I  am  nearing  my  20th  year  in  this  hobby....
But  i  have  tried  and  failed  in  breeding  egg  laying  fishes  earlier...  now  after  being  here  in  IAH  i  have  succeeded  in  breeding  Fighter,  gourami,  Goldfish  and  now  zebra   too.I  should  say  IAH  has  made  me  wiser  Very Happy

 Thanks
It  is  an  old  tank...  made  by  our  old  construction  contractor...
They  never  used  anything  special..  they  used  more  cement  with  less  sand...  Actually  the  concrete  slab  was  purchased...  a  slit  was  cut  open  on  the  wall....  the  slab  was  inserted  and  then  bricks  were  used  to  construct  the  side  walls  and  glass  was  inserted  in  the  front...  again  cement  is  poured  on  the  bottom.,....  and  also  a  pack  was  applied  on  the  sides......This  is  what  i  could  remember,  since  it  was  long  back.....  Also  i  have  painted  with  good  quality  paints  then...  .which  came  off  with  time(slowly  in  5  years  time)..  then  i  haven't  painted  the  tank.
But  now  if  you  intend  to  make  cement/Glass  tanks.....  then  there  are  few  waterproof  cement  solutions  available..  If  you  ask  then  you  might  get  expert's  answer  in  IAH....  all  the  best  for  your  new  tank.

Vi-jeyanth-a  tanks  are  tougher  than  VIJAYANTA  (army)  tanks???!!!!!!
 anyhow  that's  a  good  one.
 Thanks  Mr.Garothmaan.
Yes  they  are  goldies  and  since  they  are  kept  in  natural  light  with  natural  food,  the  color  might  be  sligtly  better  than  the  ones  kept  on  the  regular  aquarium.
anyhow  i'll  try  to  find  a  better  photo
