can someone shed some information on the lighting requirement for a rose anemone(Entacmeae quadricolor) but till now i haven't seen it's bubble tips. My anemone is around 3 inch in base diameter and has around 4 -5 inch long tentacles. Currently it is under a 14000k MH lamp of 150 watts.
Is this the correct color temperature for this anemone?

How high is your tank? Where has it attached itself(top, middle, bottom)?
typically this lighting is enough, Even Sps will be happy 6 to 7 inches from the MH.
in one of the documentry in discovery channel they said that bubble tip are more often seen on anemones that are hosted by a clown fish.

my tank is 2 ft in height and the distance between the anemone and the light is around 15 inches.
the anemone is lodged in a crevice between 2 live rocks.... and since it has come it has grown in size but somehow..it's bright red colour seems a little dull. So was wondering if the light is an issue.
Regarding the bubbles, i had previously observed for some other bubble tipped anemones, that the bubbles form once the light's are turned on...they became elongated once the lights were switched off.
This one from day one has it's tentacles alws elongated....wondering this may be some other species..
