Decided  to  give  the  tank  a  new  look.  I  will  now  call  it  the  "Forbidden  Forest"!  The  look  was  partly  forced  by  the  melting  away  of  the  HM   Sad  .  Just  rearranged  the  scape  a  bit.  No  new  additions.  Do  you  think  the  empty  portions  should  be  left  as  it  is  or  I  need  to  try  some  carpet  plants?  By  the  way,  the  tank  is  running  without  CO2  for  last  15  day  and  will  get  the  CO2  cylinder  refilled  soon.

Here  is  the  view  of  the  complete  tank

"Forbidden  Forest"  -  It  indeed  looks  like  one.  I  like  the  way  it  looks.  Is  the  right  corner  always  that  dark?  Using  a  little  additional  lighting  during  photographing  might  help,  just  my  opinion.

What  happened  to  those  HM  carpet??  The  new  settings  looks  cool.  Keep  that  left  hand  space  empty.

BTW...  Tomorrow  morning  that  CO2  guy  (Shatrughan)  coming  to  my  place  to  refill  my  cylinders.  Give  him  a  buzz  so  he  can  do  your's  too  at  a  go.

 Thanks  all.

Rahul:  No  no  the  right  side  usually  has  one  more  light.  But  to  get  the  dark  effect,  switched  that  off  while  shooting  Chuckle

Tirtha:  the  problem  is  with  the  solenoid  valve  I  think.  This  time  the  cylinder  seems  to  be  full.  Have  to  get  the  solenoid  valve  repaired.  And  partly  this  layout  was  what  I  had  in  mind  for  the  ADA  tank  Smile  !  Except  that,  there  I  will   cover  the  open  area  with  glosso/HC.

hayath:  Yeah  I  kind  of  decided  to  breat  the  usual  'branches  pointing  upwards'  concept!

Maulik:  This  is  actually  not  a  single  but  5  different  driftwoods.  Because  the  driftwoods  are  now  seasoned  well,  I  can  place  them  anywhere  at  amost  an  angle  without  even  having  to  tie  them  with  one  another.  There  is  one  problem  though,  each  time  th  water  is  a  bit  disturbd,  the  driftwoods  move  a  bit  Chuckle  ,  but  thats  ok....as  long  as  they  conform  wit  the  layout.

Incidentally,  most  of  the  plants  underneath  the  driftwood  are  crypts  and  Ferns.  So  I  hope,  that  the  blocked  light  isn't  much  of  a  problem.

 Water  parameters
 pH:  6.5
 Temp  less  than  26
Nitrate  and  Phophate  radings  are  normal.

 Algae  attack---not  yet   Cheering

Throw  out  that  solenoid  and  Run  CO2  24x7.  Give  airation  at  night.  Solenoids  became  a  PITA  now  a  days.

BTW,  When  you  are  going  to  utilize  those  black  soil  kept  in  White  boxes?

 Tirtha,

May  be  I  will  do  that...just  run  CO2.  And  switch  it  off  in  the  night.

Awaiting  algae....but  the  tea  break,  for  which  they  are  visiting  you,  is  taking  a  bit  too  long....I  always  knew  you  are  a  good  host  Chuckle   Rock On

This  has  now  become  a  low  maintainance  tank.  The  pressurized  CO2  is  not  working.  Either  the  cylinders  are  too  much  of  an  eye  sore  or  they  getting  over  within  a  day  or  there  is  sudden  gas  discharge  (twice  the  rubber  pipes  burst  open)...in  nutshell  planning  to  move  to  either  (a)  a  better  CO2  set  or  no  pressurized  CO2.  Incidentally,  the  tank  was   algae  free  and  had  decent  growth  for  2  months  when  it  was  on  electronic  CO2  unit.  Here  are  some  latest  pics

I  need  some  advice:  I  am  planning  to  now  grow  a  Glosso  carpet  in  the  empty  area.  So  plan  A  is  just  plant  them  as  it  is  and  try  my  luck  with  not  pressurized  CO2.
Plan  B,  remove  the  substrate  from  that  empty  space.  Then  put  ADA  substrate  only  there,  plant  Glosso  and  try  pressurized  CO2  once  again.

I  a  sure  there  are  better  plans  (including  leave  it  as  it  is   Chuckle   Chuckle  ).  Please  advice.

Bappa  Da,  don't  go  for  glosso  in  this  setup.  Leave  that  area  empty.  It's  looking  cool.  For  CO2  setup,  will  give  you  a  buzz  tomorrow.
