Actually  I  need  to  get  the  ID  right  for  the  fish.  I  lean  more  towards  a  Homaloptera  sp.

I  no  longer  have  it.  I  kept  it  in  a  cement  tank  to  handle  the  heat  but  eventually  when  I  wanted  to  catch  it  for  my  loach  tank,  it  was  nowhere  to  be  found.

Here's  one  which  we  caught  in  the  streams  of  Siruvani,  last  Sunday.

Most  likely  a  Homaloptera  montana.  (or  could  be  a  menoni).

The  location  it  was  caught  from  (Credits  to  Vignesh,  Pandian).

Travancoria  jonesii  collected  from  Shekkalmudi,  Valparai:

 Key  difference  from  Bhavania  australis:
Pectoral  fins  shorter  and  does  not  extend  till  pelvics  as  compared  to  Bhavania.   Pale  below  in  flattened  part  had  9  saddle  shaped  blotches  along  dorsal  and  numerous  irregular  black  spots  around  head  and  sides.   Operculum  isn't  short  of  gill  opening  as  in  Bhavania  australis.
