Got  this  FH  couple  of  days  back.  Please  comment  the  type  and  does  he  have  any  potential  to  become  a  good  breed.  Feeding  him  with  small  quantity  of  pellets  and  not  yet  bought  any  special  FH  food  yet.  I  am  also  skeptical  to  feed  him  with  Ocean  Free  products  as  doubts  is  raised  about  it's  authenticity.  Please  let  me  know  what  kind  of  food  can  be  given.

 Mathan.

Thanks  for  your  comments  headbanger.  What  kind  of  food  routine  should  I  follow.  Using  Ocean  free  products,  I  had  lost  one  FH  to  herenia.  I  am  not  sure  if  I  can  again  feed  that  product  again.

Yes,  overall  a  good  pickup.  Give  him  shrimp  (Freeze  dried),  if  you  can  lay  your  hands  on  Hikari  cichlid  food  (big  granules)  and  freeze  dried  blood  worms.  Should  do  fine  with  this  diet.  Also  feed  him  3  times  a  day.

Well........  all  my  FHs  get  only  two  foods  on  a  regular  basis
on  weekdays  it  is  hikari  cichlid  staple
on  weekends  it  is  hikari  cichlid  bio  gold  plus

just  a  word  of  caution  from  my  side
do  not  feed  shrimp  on  a  regular  basis,  as  this  kinda  diet  will  reduce  the  pearling  on  your  FH  and  as  well  diminish  the  Red,  i  know  it  is  weird,  with  shrimp  being  a  very  good  source  of  spirulina,  but  shrimps  in  case  of  FHs  don't  help  in  gaining  red.

blood  worms  will  be  bad  idea  if  you  have  gravel  in  your  tank,  FHs  are  voracious  eaters  and  blood  worms  are  too  tiny,  so  most  of  the  blood  worms  will  get  lodged  in  your  gravel  and  your  filter,  and  will  spoil  your  water  quality

If  your  FH  is  smaller  than  3"  feed  him  thrice  as  said  by  venky,  right  now  he  looks  to  be  around  4"  or  so,  feed  him  twice  a  day  in  small  portions,  so  that  he  just  gets  a  slight  bulge  after  eating,  no  too  much  just  a  little.

this  would  help  your  FH  get  some  nice  to  him

Thanks  for  your  comment  Sandy.  This  one  is  a  small  tank  and  I  would  be  moving  him  to  a  bigger  tank  but  not  yet  decided  on  the  background  pic  for  that  tank.

Thanks  for  your  comment  Venkat.  I  have  not  yet  bought  any  proper  food,  just  feeding  him  some  chichlid  pellets  for  now.  Have  to  pickup  something  this  weekend.

Thanks  Headbanger.  Is  Grand  Sumo  good  for  FH?  I  am  not  going  to  feed  any  live  feed  or  Ocean  Free  products.  As  you  have  mentioned  I  would  get  the  Hikari  food.  Interesting  facts  about  frozen  shrimp.  I  thought  of  adding  it  to  it's  diet  but  if  you  say  it  is  not  good  I  would  stay  away  from  it.

Your  fish  is  underfed,  IMO.  Its  a  good  one  so  if  you  give  it  proper  diet  it  will  become  more  beautiful.

yeah  as  jibran  mentioned  the  head  growth  is  good.  However  the  colors  and  pearls  are  not  that  eye  catching  at  least  in  the  photos  posted.
