finally!  i  ordered  glass  today,  which  i  may  get  tomorrow  morning  or  on  monday,
the  tank  size  is  30''(l)x15''(w)x18''(h),  all  12mm  float  glass,

the  problems  that  i  have  now  are,

1)the  shop  only  has1''  and  2''  drills,  so  is  it  enough  for  this  tank  to  have  3/4  ''  drain.
2)the  silicone  that  is  available  is  GE2000,  is  it  ok?

thank  you  all  of  them  for  your  valuable  suggestions,  because  of  which  i  have  saved  a  lot  of  time,  money.........

once  again  thank  you  friends  Cheer

 Hey  har297
 Welcome  to  salty  world  .
i  would  suggest  you  to  go  for  the  higher  water  volume  setup  as  you  can  .  There  one  thumb  Rule  in  Aquariums  that  is  "The  bigger  it  is  better  it  gets  ".
so  you  can  still  have  small  display  tank  what  you  can  add  on  is  having  bigger  Sump  or  can  have  two  levels  of  sump.
 Like
 Main  tank  to  Sump  1
 Sump  1  (  mechanical,  chemical   Filtration  /  Skimmer  )
 Sump1  to  Sump  2
 Sump2  (  Bio  filtration  ,liverock  ,  DSB  ,  MICRO  algae  ,  Turf  screen  )

so  what  you  need  is  3  tanks  of  almost  30US  gallons  each   so  that  makes  you  system  in  total  of  90  gallons  which  is   quite  good.

i  would  recommend  you  to  go  for  at  least  10,000k  lighting  which  will  be  bit  high  in  price  but  since  you  are  adding  live  rock  will  be  looking  forward  to  coraline  algae  too  which  requires  actanic  and   high  kelvin  lighting  to  grow.

now  Skimmer  there  are  few  options  In  skimmers  But   i  would  recommend  you  to  invest  more   on  skimmer  then  any  other  thing  .  Try  for  In  Sump  skimmer  since  you  are  going  for   Sump  .  check  For  Vai  aqua  Insump  Skimmer  its  bit  cheaper  and  best  and  also  comes  with  its  pump  .

there  is  one  very  important  thing  that  you  are  missing  out  that  is  Wave  makers  .  You  need  a  good  flow  rate  at  least  30X  .  what  you  need  is  a  wavemaker  of  a  speed  over  2000ltr/hr  which  will  take  care  of  the  flow  rate  well  dont  got  power  heads  since  they  generate  lot  of  heat  .

Go  for  live  sand  in  the  substrate  .

Another  important  thing  add  all  the  live  rock  in  on  go  this  will  cycle  the  tank  and  stabilize  the  parameters  quicker  .
Please  correct  me  if  i  am  wrong  we  have  great  experts  to  suggest  you  better  options  for  setup

 Regards
 Suneesh

 thank  you  for  the  reply,

got  a  new!,  old  used  skimmer  dymax  one,  will  buy  a  better  one  soon,  still  not  decided  on  lighting,  will  consider
your  suggestion(suneeshkachroo)  and  about  the  sump,  you  are  correct,  i'll  be  using  a  bigger  one,

Quote:
the  egg  crate  which  is  kept  at  bottom  of  the  tank  on  which  the  rocks  are  placed,  available  here  in  bengaluru,  if  no  what  can  be  the  alternative.

try  the  electrical  stores  that  sell  light  fittings  you  will  find  acrylic  trays  of  about  1cm  cubes  cut  in  it  that  are  used  for  light  fittings.

the  tank  has  come  out  good,  the  plumbing  is  also  neat.  Since  the  12mm  glass  was  an  overkill  I  would  not  put  any  braces  on  the  top.  (Infact,  we  make  tanks  with  thicker  glass  to  avoid  top  braces).
Even  the  joints  could  have  been  a  bit  neater  (tell  your  guy  to  waste  lesser  silicone!).  Otherwise  it  looks  perfect!
I  also  see  a  slot  between  the  conopy  and  the  tank  (if  that  was  intended  for  ventilation)  I  would  say  you  also  drill  holes  in  the  top  of  the  canopy  for  the  hot  air  to  escape  through.
WRT  weipro  2015  I'd  again  say  it  is  not  necessary  for  your  tank  -  you  could  easily  use  a  2011  or  2012  of  the  same  company...though  the  latter  would  be  again  an  overkill  (remember  bigger  the  skimmer  stronger  the  pump!).  I'd  save  money  there  and  buy  a  good  external  return  pump.
One  more  problem  I  see  is  that  you  have  a  small  overflow  chamber  that  is  not  secured  with  a  barrier  on  top...If  a  fish  jumps  into  your  overflow  chamber  it  can  either  be  sucked  into  your  sump  or  you  will  have  a  hard  time  netting  it  out  (because  of  the  small  dimensions).  Even  if  there  is  no  fish  in  the  overflow  chamber  it  will  still  act  as  a  settling  chamber  and  accumulate  a  lot  of  detritus  that  eventually  have  to  be  siphoned  out  so  keep  a  siphoning  tube  of  the  required  dimension  for  the  job.

can  you  give  any  idea  for  reflectors  for  36W  PL,  planning  on  having  three  of  them, with  electronic  ballast,

 Good.
I  would  say  you  change  the  water  but  once  and  keep  the  water  taken  out  from  the  tub  aside  -  every  second  day  just  take  out  the  rocks  and  shake  off/  scrub  off  detritus  into  that  old  water.  Leave  the  water  in  the  tub  alone  for  a  while  and  just  keep  adding  salt  water  as  much  as  your  wet  skimming  takes  out!  This  way  you  are  changing  water,  cleaning  rocks  as  well  as  saving  money!
The  quantity  of  water  in  the  tub  is  just  fine  as  long  as  the  rocks  remain  submerged  just  ensure  that  the  water  flow  in  the  tub  is  enough  for  keeping  the  rocks  free  from  sediments  and  die-offs.
Take  care  while  handling  un-cured  LRs  as  sometimes  you  get  a  horrible  itch  it  is  a  good  idea  to  wear  gloves  while  handling  un-cured  live  rocks.
