Guys,  I  was  keeping  a  closer  eye  on  the  deals  for  Canon  500D  for  a  long  time.  This  is  53000/-  with  EF-S  lense  here  in  India,  and  the  same  camera  is  available  in  US  for  $719.

Right  after  thanks  giving  I  found  a  deal  on  this  camera  on  Amazon  only  for  $689  and  pickd  it  up.

So  if  you  are  really  looking  for  a  DSLR,  I  think  you  won't  mind  saving  21K.  :)

 Nice  Deal  Tirtha.  Thumb Up

I  have  a  doubt.  Is  it  straightforward  to  get  things  delivered  by  Amazon  to  India?  Or  it  depends  on  the  items?  May  I  request  you  to  throw  much  light  on  this  please?

Because  I  have  ordered  for  a  Seachem  Excel  flourish  to  my  BIL's  address  at  US  and  bothering  him  to  bring  that  here!

 Thanks  and  regards,

I  got  books  delivered  to  my  home  address  many  times  from  Amazon  and  different  dry  plan  suppliments  from  US  too.  But  never  tried  electronics.  I  am  currently  at  Minnesota  so  it  was  easy  for  me  to  get  the  camera.  You  can  always  order  it  from  india  and  get  it  delivered  to  someone  who  is  currently  there  at  US  planning  to  come  down  to  india.

Tirtha  wouldnt  warranty  be  an  issue?

I  had  to  replace  the  sensor  on  my  Sony  H1  after  13  months.  Thankfully  sony  had  a  three  year  warranty  on  that.
I  would  feel  safer  with  a  warranty  Neutral

Thanks  Tirtha.  That  is  what  I  am  doing  currently,  I  dont  know  about  fish  foods  too,  whether  it  could  be  delivered  to  an  Indian  address.

If  I  am  not  wrong,  Canon  is  the  only  company  who  gives  worldwide  warranty.  Not  sure  though.  Hopefully  by  tomorrow,  I  will  get  the  camera  delivered.  Will  check  it  out.

If  the  quantily  is  low,  then  anytime  you  can  get  them  shipped  to  india.

What  about  duty?  I  think  you  would  have  to  pay  duty  on  any  expensive  electronics  that  you  import.

btw  if  anybody  like  Nikon  P90(24x  Zoom)  ,  in  US  its  now  almost  at  50%  discount.

Not  unless  you  are  carrying  many  of  them  and  give  them  a  scope  of  doubt.
If  you  strip  down  all  the  packaging  and  carry  it  with  you  they  will  believe  that  it  is  for  your  personal  use  and  it  is  indeed  a  used  one.

If  you  can  manage  to  let  the  camera  through  the  customs,  even  after  paying  the  duty  it  will  be  cheap.   Smile

 What  lens  Tirtha  ?
I  was  looking  at  the   EF-S  17-85mm  f/4.0-5.6  IS  USM  as  an  upgrade  to  my  kit  lens  but  at  34k  want  to  make  sure.  Any  Insights?
