Yesterday  I  stumbled  upon  some  old  DD  ads  on  youtube.  Man,  they  were  so  good,  brought  back  old  memories  and  simpler  times.  Especially  the  nirma  ad  was  cool.  Went  back  to  the  days  when  we  would  wrap  up  cricket  at  5:30  pm  on  Sunday,  so  we  could  go  and  watch  the  tamil  movie  on  DD.  Just  wondering  has  anyone  ever  watched  those  ads  on  youtube?

Oliyum  oliyum  and  sunday  movie  was  the  biggest  thing.  May  be  a  drama  on  tuesday,  now  a  days  so  much  useless  stuff  on  tv,  miss  the  good  ol  days.  My  first  memory  of  watching  TV  is  watching  the  movie  Madras  to  Pondicherry  on  a  small  B&W  TV.  I  thing  I  was  6  or  7  in  1984.

Vikram  aur  Betaal,  Giant  Robot  on  DD2  (used  to  rush  early  from  school  just  to  catch  this  ),  Didi's  comedy  show  -  those  were  the  times  when  I  looked  forward  to  watch  Television.  It  is  more  of  ads  these  days  and  all  I  do  is  channel  surfing.

I  can  not  foget  5.15  to  5.30  pm  cartoon  show  of  Spiderman  ahead  of  the  Sunday  evening  movie.

Courtesy  DD-Delhi,  the  programme  after  Ramayan  would  be  Fairy  Tale  Theatre  -  I  used  to  amaze  those  special  effects  shown  in  that.

Have  this  collection  of  good  old  Doordarshan  memories.

 Giant  Robot

 Ramayan/Mahabharat

 Swamy  of  Malgudi  Days

And  my  favourite  Bunny  of  Lijjat  Papad

I  guess  Youtube  has  some  cool  collection  of  popular  DD  cartoons  like  'Ek  Chidiya-Anek  Chidiya',  'Ekta  Ka  Vruksh'  etc.

I  remember  Babapappa,  although  can't  recall  The  mole.
There  was  another  very  interesting  cartoon  program  called,  "History  of  mankind".
Well,  those  were  the  days  of  single  channel,  black  &  white  TV  "EC"  TV.  and
"Rukawat  ke  leye  khed"  "sorry  for  interruption"  Very Happy

OMG  I  loved  Gaint  Robot  !!  All  of  us  building  kids  used  to  watch  it  together.  I  also  used  to  like  Guiness  World  Records.  I  think  Pranoy  Roy  was  the  host  for  that

I  remember  watching  telegames  and  Mogli  on  Sunday  mornings.  I  use  to  ask  my  parents  to  wake  me  up  early  so  that  i  wont  miss  these  shows.

Now  a  days  I  hate  TV  and  those  useless  news  channels.
