This loach were collected a stream flowing under a bridge on the Sheikalmudi road in the Anamalai region.
The stream that the loach was collected from.

| I no longer have it. I kept it in a cement tank to handle the heat but eventually when I wanted to catch it for my loach tank, it was nowhere to be found. |

Here's one which we caught in the streams of Siruvani, last Sunday.
Most likely a Homaloptera montana. (or could be a menoni).
The location it was caught from (Credits to Vignesh, Pandian).

Travancoria jonesii collected from Shekkalmudi, Valparai:
Key difference from Bhavania australis:
Pectoral fins shorter and does not extend till pelvics as compared to Bhavania. Pale below in flattened part had 9 saddle shaped blotches along dorsal and numerous irregular black spots around head and sides. Operculum isn't short of gill opening as in Bhavania australis. |
