 Nice  setup   Thumb Up
But  I  wonder  whether  the  set  up  lasts  long.  Does  those  wooden  pieces  can  withstand  the  water  pressure?
what  is  the  depth  of  the  pond  also  post  the  dimensions  of  the  pond

The  depth  is  18".  length  72"x  breadth  36"
the  pond  is  about  6  months  old  and  hopfully  should  last  for  another  six  months  at  least.
I  plan  to  get  a  pvc/fibre  glass  tank.

it  is  a  BOYU  103B  pump.  it  pumps  water  to  the  filter.  the  water  is  filtered  through  layer  of  charcoal,  river  gravel,  and  plastic  scrubbers  by  gravity  and  back  to  the  pond.  WC  once  a  month  40%.
the  substrate  is  construction  sand.  It  takes  almost  15  days  for  the  water  to  get  settled  and  clear.

Your  idea  of  creating  pond  is  wonderful.  Water  lettuce  plants  are  also  looking  good.  Add  some  more  floating  plants.  By  the  way  what  is  the  temperature  in  summers/winters  of  the  pond.  I  think  this  may  not  possible  in  Delhi.  Everythink  DIY  also  shows  your  innovative  nature.

 Thankyou  Hari  and  Scorpio
I  am  trying  to  get  water  Lilly  and  some  more  floating  plant.
 I  have  put  a  heater  to  maintain  26  c  .
But  this  is  not  actually  required  as  Koi  and  Goldish  are  known  to  be  cold  water  fishes.

 Hi  Bijay,

Of  course  in  course  of  time  it  may  get  blocked  and  water  may  overflow.  Hence  I  have  provided  a  over  flow  outlet  just  2"  below  the  top  rim.
This  has  to  be  delivered  to  the  tank  back.  It  would  be  better  to  backwash  and  clear  the  clog  once  in  a  while-may  be  once  in  two  months.  In  my  case  the  capacity  of  the  bucket  is  too  big  for  the  quantity  of  water  flow  .  So  I  have  not  connected  the  overflow  to  the  tank  back  yet.
For  easy  cleaning  of  the  filter  media  (sand/  char  coal)  put  them  in  a  big  loose  bag  made  out  of  mosquito  net  cloth  and  put  them  in  the  bucket.  It  will  be  easier  to  handle  and  rinse  clean.

18  inch  depth  may  be  too  little  for  koi....as  they  grow  they  need  closer  to  3  ft  minimum(rather,3  ft  in  order  to  grow  large)Consider  high  quality  gold  fish  instead. They  give  an  amazing  view  from  above(ranchus, butterfly  black  moors, orandas, panda  demekins)With  good  care, you'll  have  good  quality  goldfish  spawning  for  you!  Smile
