i  just  give  them  2  cubes  of  around  1cm  at  a  time  but  it  was  observed  that  they  eat  the  top  layer  and  the  flesh  inside  keeps  on  floating  till  the  next  water  change

 Darshan,

I  am  confused  dude,  you  are  telling  that  the  discus’s  are  grown  to  around  4  inches  from  1.5  inches  with  single  type  food,   and  that’s  the  dried  blood  worms.

Can  you  explain  the  regular  routine  to  maintain  this  BB  discus  tank!!!

 Kiran

i  have  tried  BHM  but  huge  chunks  remain  in  the  tank

Sometimes  amongst  discus,  most  aggressive  guy  develops  the  habit  of  guiding  BHM  chunk  dropped  in  the  tank.  Neither  he  eats  himself  nor  let  others  do,  gets  ferocious  if  someone  tries  to  come  closer  to  the  chunk  &  shoo  them  away.  Result,  chunk  remains  uneaten.

You  can  observe  their  behaviour  once  BHM  is  fed.  Say  after  10  minutes  crush  the  BHM  chunk  by  your  hand  &  spread  it  towards  all  other  discus  so  everyone  gets  their  share  to  eat.

Even  after  spreading  food,  if  you  feel  BDs  staying  back  better  to  separately  grow  them  to  avoid  future  stunteds.

 Yeah,  partition  will  do.
But  separate  tank  is  always  better  for  growouts.

Let  it  remain  as  is....  that  BD  will  also  remain  healthy...  only  that  it  will  remain  a  dwarf

 Darshan  ,

To  raise  a  group  of  discus   to  same  size  is  not  easy  ,  you  will  always  notice  there  is  size  variation  or  some   discus  are  stunted  .

After  treating  them  with  metro  ,  they  should  improve  .
Prepare  fresh  BHM  and  add  B-  Complex  .  Starve  them  for  two  days  and  start  feeding  them  .  add  Tetra  bits  in  this  freshly  prepared  BHM  .
You  can  also  try  adding  Sugar  free  B-Complex  in  water  to  increase  their  appetite

 Thanks
