Your  tank  can  max  accomodate  297  ltrs  ,  but  if  you  keep  water  level  of  20  inch  ,  it  will  take  on  270  ltrs  .  Pl  correct  me  if  I  am  wrong  .

To  keep  no  of  discus  in  above  tanks  depends  upon  below  factors  ,

 1)  Size  of  discus  .
 2)  WC  Schedule  .
 3)  Type  and  no  of  feedings  .
 4)  Filteration  system  .

If  you  want  to  grow  discus  to  adult  size  ,  you  can  keep   15  discus  of  4  inch  and  then  select  10-  12   best  discus  of  5  inch  from  this  group  and  grow  them  to  full  size  .

Most  important  is  regular  WC  .

 Thanks

Yes  you  are  correct  ,  some  strain  of  discus  grows  too  big  ,  its  genetic  .  If  parents  are  big  they  will  produce  good  babies  ,  which  grows  to  very  good  size  .

Have  you  ever  seen  7  -  8  inch  Melons  or  Red  passion  .

There  are  few  strains  recently  developed  which  may  grow  up  to  9  inch  also  .
Have  you  seen  Giant  Flora  ,  Vietnam  Turquoise  ,  Giant  Carnation  ,  they  grows  too  big  .  Most  of  the  LSS  from  Collins  are  also  too  big  in  size  .

 Thanks

Depends  upon  the  gene  pool  it  has  got  ,Albino  BD  don't  grows  much  ,  normal  BD  will  grow  around  5-6  inch  ,  Hi  body  Hi  fins  can  grow   to  7  inch  .
 So  again  its  genetic  .

As  I  told  earlier  its  genetic,  if  their  parents  are  Hi  body,  high  fins  they  may  grow  even  big.  If  their  parents  are  normal  size,  don't  expect  them  to  grow  to   jumbo  size  discus.

@Darshan  :-  in  my  opinion  ,  don  worry  too  much  ,  keep  it  simple,,  i  think  all  our  discus  are  eating  means  all  are  fine  ,,  just  spread  food  everywere  and  do  DAILY  WC  .  and  dont  worry  too  much  .........ALL  IS  WELL

you'll  find  it  funny  i  raised  my  1'  discus  to  3.5'  ,which  were  kept  in  tank  mixed  with  discus  size  ranging  from  3'  to  4  '..........so  no  need  to  seperate  it  ,  just  feed  properly  (most  importantly   timing  is  also  key  ,dont  change  feeding  time)

Viabhav  has  raised  a  good  point  about  feeding  timing.

Shiva,  does  the  feeding  time  really  matter  when  it  comes  to  growth  of  discus?  I've  heard  that  it  really  can  affect  the  growth  but..how?
