Sorry madan, knowing about you, i though the measurements will be in FEET!!!
Having some problem with my camera!!! beta boy - help needed!!!
Well i have 84 LEDS on a 54X24X24 Tank.. That is equivalent to having 250W MH all over my tank.
But for planted, you can go with less as you dont need that much intensity, or can pack up the front with more LEDs for Carpet plants play with the positioning.
Scorpio - the surface area is about 864 Sq inches, and you would need about 54 minimum with/without optics to get a 200W MH Effect... can lower is further if required based on your requirement. |

Thanks beta, do come and take the pics tommrow.
Madan, 15X10 = 150sq inches and i think with 12-15 LEDs you will be sending in 250W of power into it easily!!! ..
Costing is kindda vague as everything is in testing phase. But it is not that Cheap though.
But if you are all using MH and need to replace your bulbs every year, then taking into consideration the saving on electricity the amount invested can be recovered in 4 years. And since these are known to have life of over 8-10 years..
LEDs is for hobbyists who want to be into the hobby for long - this is my humble opinion. |

Hi PK,
Congratulations, indeed a long wait. Hope the resistor on your cam does the trick again.<CLikcHK>
Is it on the tank already?
Good luck with them.

Boss PK!
Have I been long enough in the hobby to qualify?
Make plans to fabricate 1 set each for 15 x 10 inch surface area for 2 planted tanks and and communicate pa, TIA.

madanji, i think you are the most qualified person whom i know of, to have such a big tank!!!
Sai:
1. my tank is 54 inches X 24 inches X 24 inches and it has 84 LEDS on my tank and that is equivalent to having 3, 250W MHs' to cover the whole Area of the tank.
2. Madan's tank surface area is 15X10=150 Sq inches, and having 12-15 LEDS will give the tank an output of having a 250W MH Over it.
Approx costings will be about 4 McChicken value meals (@ MacD) Per LED, including Driver and Lens ... |

Since I don't patronize McD's all that much, how about a price in "broast" chickens? 1 full "broast" chicken costs INR 140.
